Shopping - online or highstreet outlets

This is the time of the year when many people shop for gifts and presents. In fact the amount people shop in December and January is enough to keep business going for the whole year. However there has been a change in the way we shop in recent years. More and more people are shopping online rather then go to the high street retailers. I guess each method has its pros and cons. I like shopping online as it is convenient,saves time and money and most important I don't get frustrated going around looking for parking space. Which shopping method do you prefer and why?
