Hi Simplyman.....
We all love music and life will be boring without good music and songs. So I actually don't want to think much about advantages and disadvantages of music....I love calm music as well as rocking music.......I know that it makes me happy depending on my mood....I saw from your profile that you are an Indian, and who can know pleasure of good music better than we Indian, who have all different kinds of music with heart touching lyrics.
But I will agree with you about hearing music with headphone for long time.....I don't like it and I have also told my children not to use them for long. But over all I think effects of music are not so bad if you really know how to enjoy it. Have a nice day.

In have my music 24/7 on, but only meditation, new age, sounds of nature. I use Philips system for iPod. My music plays non stop. My fur friends like 'Underwater Cave' and 'Rainforest', they sleep very deep with music on.
I think that calming music opens our spiritual connection...
I also like rock, but I play it only in my car...:)

I know people who listen and go to live concert/events who are old and they've had no problems.
I listen to rock music, it's not just for 15 year olds. mostly it's aimed at older people, I don't play the music too loud so I have no harm and I don't believe that "rock" music alone causes problems or "soft" makes a different except for how we take it in.

I disagree, simplyman, because I am an older person who sometimes listens to the "rocking" music. My taste in music goes in all directions, and I listen to whatever suits my mood at the time. Sure, there are times when I want slow, quiet music so that I can relax, but there are also times when I want to pump it up and really get into the fast beat of the music.

In my opinion, both calm and roking music are helpful to our body,
When the time i'm happy,I will listen to the rocking music and it will bring me to the highest situatin of my sensity. It's a perfect experimence.
When the time I studying, I prefer calm music, because he will bring my heart to the bottom of silence and then I could leran the work well.
And if I am sad, both calm and rocking would be choosen. The first will bring me up and the next will give me the export to pouring the bad sensity.

Hi simplyman2006,Music does many things for the human body including, masking unpleasant sounds and feelings, slowing down and equalizing brain waves, affecting respiration, affecting the heartbeat, pulse rate, and blood pressure, reducing muscle tension and improving body movement and coordination, affecting the body temperature, regulating stress-related hormones, boosting the immune function, changing our perception of space and time, strengthening our memory and learning, boosting productivity, enhancing romance and sexuality, stimulating digestion, fostering endurance, enhancing unconscious receptivity to symbolism, and generating a sense of safety and well-being. The next few paragraphs will address each way that music has an affect on our body so one can get a more full understanding of how something like music can affect our bodies in such a large way.Music can do all kinds of wonderful things for us. It's a wonder why most people don't realize that music helps them that much. Some people listen to music all day, all the time, and they just think its music. It does something for them. That's what they say. But more people should fully understand that music might be the reason they haven't been sick in a year, or why they have such a low blood pressure for the way they eat.

Soft mellow music does calm me very much. When I need to relax my mind, I tune in to my favorite radio station that plays those sweet love songs. But when I need to be on the go, and need that energy, I listen to fast music. But not necessarily, the rock types of song. I'm just not into that. Whenever I need to clean the house, I listen to disco songs that makes my adrenalin to keep on going.

Hi,there! I think different music has different effects. We listen to different kinds of music when we're in different states.Usually I'd like to listen to some light music cause it makes me calm down and think about things more carefully.Sometimes I like listening to some pop music cause it could make me more active.I also listen to some country music cause the tunes are beautiful:) In a word,I think music is really necessary in our daily life,it can help us to adjust ourselves. Thanks for the discussion and have a nice day^_^

Hi Simpleton...
In India we have Bollywood, Tollywood, Kollywood and many more woods... The total number of films release in each wood will be somewhere around 50-75. All the movies have greatest of music right from original to remix to copy of pop... from slow to fast. From flutes to heavy drums.. Indian film industry is simply great, as it produces so many films and with that comes is a variety of music for young to old.
Music of Indian films is great and soothing...
I love Indian films music

I love music. I like the way it stirs my emotions. I agree that music can effect people in a variety of ways. I like all kinds of music. What I listen to depends on my mood and what I am doing. I like rock music and soothing music. Music is very influential psychologically. It can bring back memories and even make a scary movie scarier. I always try to listen to music safely. So that I can continue to maintain good hearing and take pleasure in listening to music for many years to come.
