Oh, almost forgot...if you're not against using a public school system you might want to check with k12.com to see if your state has this available. It's basically an online charter public school so you still have a lot of the stuff that goes along with public schools such as the testing, the teachers, etc. but they do provide you with the computer (if needed), the books, and all the support you can think of.I don't use it just because i like to have more flexibility, but know several people who do like this option.

If you're looking for individual classes that can be done you may want to check out free-ed.net
They are free classes for high school level and up offered online. They don't offer diplomas or anything like that but can be a good addition to whatever you may be teaching.

Hi there,
First off (if you haven't yet) before anyone should give you advice on curriculum .. you need to check out the legal regs and requirements for your state. This can be done at www.hslda.com and that site has TONS of other resources as well.
Secondly a curriculum needs to be tailored to the child as well as to the teaching style of the parent in order to work well. In your case since you have a highschooler you would need to consider what he is going to be doing after school (ie college, or a job?) and make sure he learns what he needs for that.
Thirdly, I would recommend joining a yahoo email group for support, a great one is called Homeschoolingboys ( http://groups.yahoo.com/group/homeschoolingboys/ ). And also checking around and seeing if there is a local group in your area like a homeschool co-op or other group!
Last of all ... congrats on choosing to homeschool, its really a better way for most children.
