Hi julialaurene0206,
I just want to tell you that all online data entry jobs are not scam at all. I have a friend who is earning at least USD6000.00 a month from home-stay data entry job. She said she had to pay upfront fee of $55.00. She had to even quit her day job. I even saw her doing the work while I went to visit her at her home. She tells me all the work comes from England. All the data are for hospitals and medical centers. She gets max 100 data daily from 50 different England hospitals. I have been asking her to also help me get this job, but, it is a top secret for her; she won't even tell me for which genuine data entry company she is working for. She only told me the secret of getting a genuine data entry company: the website always has full detail of the company with full postal add, phone, email, fax number means you should be able to contact them by phone. The rest I forgot. She has to work really hard and give a great effort for this job though. Anyways, there is no an easy way in order to get money. Cheers!!!

My dear friend, if I knew I would have told you long ago. I am also still trying my level best to find out her secret of earning good money from home. She considers me as her good friend, but doesn't want to share me anything.....any good thing. I just left my day job for some reason, and I am also desperate for home-stay job....good one, but this friend of mine is such a selfish one....she just can't share me. But, one day I will show her that I can also earn like her without any of her help. There are many sites where we can apply for good and real home-stay data entry jobs, but unfortunately all the sites are only for US residents...........US residents are too fortunate.............I sometimes envy them. Remember one thing, no-one is ever gonna share you their real source of income.....this is a selfish world. They will share you only there referrals..........because they get benefit by referring their links.........if not you can never get any good news. So, you must try your level best yourself to look for a good worldwide job. DO NOT BID FOR ANY JOBS, COZ YOU WILL ONLY LAND UP PAYING A BIG BUCKS. Lastly, I am also still hunting for a genuine data entry job that really pays.....when I am successful I will surely share you. By the way, I am planning to take medical transcription course....this is one of the easiest way to get home-stay job where you get full-time pay. GOOD LUCK AND GOD BLESS!!

If a site is only offering data entry and requires you to pay tem a fee before joining then it surely is a SCAM! . Why dont you try various freelance sites they are legit and since you have experience ,you will be able to make good income from your home.I can send you few links to those sites if your are interested.Good luck :)

Data entry isn't a scam at all. However, you'll run into scams if you're looking for a site to do it from. If you want to do data entry work from home, go to job posting sites, such as Monster or Hot Jobs, and search through data entry jobs using the keyword "telecommuting". Make sure you actually have experience in data entry because a telecommuting job is just like any other job, except for its location.

I'm with you, sister. To answer your question, yes, there are paying sites that pay for data entry jobs but the bad news is the only ones that do pay are these bidding sites where employers post their jobs and freelancers bid on the projects. Well, if you've ever been to one of these, you can see the competition involved. I'm a freelancer at two of these sites: getafreelancer.com and odesk.com
I've been a NON-active member for a good three months but when I signed up the first month, I was bidding like crazy and couldn't land a gig.

There's a banner at the bottom of my blog where you can sign up to get these kinds of jobs. You bid on the job and then the employer contacts you with any questions. they make ask for examples. Then they choose which freelancer they want for the job. Sometimes they choose more than one. It's pretty cool.

Not all data entry are scams. Their are actually genuine sites, you must apply for it like any job off line. Always remember the general rule, if they are require you to pay, chances are it is scam. You can search some genuine sites here.
