Sometimes I get so disappointed with the books that are out right now. It is times like this that I go back to 'the good old' books. One's I have always loved and treasured. The sure things. Right now, I am re-visiting James Herriot's 'All Creatures Great and Small'. I hope there will be some good one's out in 2008.

I just finished a new book that I can definitely recommend. It's called THEM and written by Nathan McCall. It's a character driven novel about what happens when neighborhoods gentrify. What's so amazing is that the author tells the tale fairly and from both sides of the fence. It really is an amazingly good read and I think this man is a writer worth watching but if you lean toward action adventure stuff, it probably won't be your thing.

Of all the books I read last year my favourites were Labrynth by Kate Mosse and The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova (which led me to Dracula by Bram Stoker, also a very good read). I would recommend these books to anyone who enjoys mystery, religion, history, mild horror and other cultures.

The Walking Drum by Louie La Mour. A tale of medieval europe in the 12th C. his wife did years of research in prep for this (I understand). a bit 'romancy" in a sense but I've read my copy 7 x and will do again one of these days. brings out a lot of stuff not known by average person. The start of Trade Guilds, trade fairs, how they were an army to them-selves armed to the teeth for self protection, etc.

All depends on the type of books you like to read. Right now I am reading a "horror" novel by Frank Peretti called "The Oath" and I am enjoying it. It was written back in 1995 and I bought it used.

Let's see... Life of Pi was wonderful, as was The Kite Runner, although each totally different. I am currently enthralled with the Stephanie Plum bounty hunter series (funny funny funny) by Janet Evanovich, as well as her other title Metro Girl. Huh. lemmie see, what else... I am such a bibliophile. I recently read a classic called Middlemarch - George Elliott, I think. Wow, that was great. And the Diana Gabaldon Outland series has been a favorite of all time, as well as Colleen McCullough's First Man of Rome series. 'Kay, that should keep you for awhile. ;)

Yea it really does depend on the book. Two of my favorite books are Fly girl and The Coldest Winter Ever. I forgot who wrote Flygirl but The Coldest Winter Ever was written by Sistah Soulja.
