I've seen some movies based on the classics that were painful to watch. I would love to know if any of you have seen good movie renditions of the classics. Please give details as to who produces the movie, etc. I hope to find and borrow any recommendations in my public library so the more information you can give the better. My favorites have been "The Lord of the Rings" movies.

I love Pride and Prejudice...I watch it every time it airs on tv. Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books.

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I've always wondered how the Pride and Prejudice movie was. I love the book. I appreciate your recommendations. I should have a lot of movies to watch in 2008.

I do not know if you could consider "LOVE STORY" the movie as a classic movie, but I enjoyed the book written by Erich Segal. :)

I've always loved "Love Story". I haven't seen it in years. Thanks for the reminder. I'll have to watch it again.
