What's up with this 4 letter word?

I just came across a discussion at http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/48602.aspx?p=2 that did not get censored. I can't write chicken b.reast or it will get censored but they can write F*ck and it doesn't. What's up with that? Isn't that word much worse to be used in this forum than chicken b.reast? (sorry for the .(dot) but I can't post that word without it getting censored. I thought the rules were for everyone not just for a few.

Here is another thing, this discussion is a year old. Now how can it still be there? And of course still no way to report it.. That isn't right..

The last response was just 21 hours ago. I was surprised it has been on here that long.

That's funny, the third time I went to this discussion the rating links were there.. so all I can say is to report this discussion to mylot.

That is an interesting observation. I have never ventured in using that "laternative" language! lol

it is the case that i also faced the same thing. I think they censor it with some validatuions for words. I have seen people can type F*ck. But the same thing Chicken b.reast I could not put. They should check the words and modify the validations here.

I just send a quiet msg to mylot and let them know the comment is questionable...my job is done. Mylot won't catch'em all so we should helpout in a positive way.

The discussion is more than a year old so I guess that was maybe before myLot applied the filter of what they perceive to be inappropriate words. Personally the word doesn't bother me at all but I'm surprised people haven't reported it before now. There again I've come across quite a few blatant guideline violations that have survived for a long time.

i've taken a look at the discussion that you are referring to and i am amazed too that mylot does not censored that post... it is very blunt and rude... may be there is a glitch in the mylot system and that particular post managed to go through... it seems weird to me as well... may be you can contact the admin and question them about this matter...

Oh wow! How come that wasn't censored? I wanted to say something about pr*cking a finger to draw blood and that wasn't allowed. Maybe because the post is a year old and it was allowed then? I really don't understand because it just does not let me submit the post. Have you seen the word used elsewhere? I mean ..does this mean that it is allowed and hasn't been included in the list of words to be censored?

Yeah, I don't understand how they get the censoring thing going either. I tried to write about my earmuffs and i have to squish it together like one word - maybe it is, but I thought it was two words. Oh, and ear is the good part of the word, the rest wasn't allowed by itself.

here is one that is funny for you. someone created a post about cooking something. and they could not put in toss-a-salad- they did and the post was taken down. now how funny is that. i don't know who at mylot reads this stuff but man is it funny what they will and won't let stay

i wouldn't report as it trying to get it deleted, but I would send the link to mylot under the contact us link at the bottom and request an explanation. I've tried to use this word a number of times and it stops me. LOL

I am so confused. I have said bre@st many times here (I wrote it that way just for you) the right way and never had it censored but apparently a lot of others have...when I say it it's almost always referring to the way to feed a baby. I can't figure out how you can read the discussion that said the f-word but not one that spells bre@st properly. Do you have you're "mature content" blocker one...well even if you did that still wouldn't make sense since f*** is much worse than bre@st...it is so annoying to write it that way since I usually write it out normally but I don't want to make it harder for you to read my post.

You are right and I couldn't find the rating links on that either, that was strange.. Maybe send this link to mylot and let them deal with it..

Like the word b@stard - I do realize that it is not nice to shout something like "hey you b@stard, whatever!" but it does have legitimate uses as well.
