I definitely hate to have injections as a part of my treatment! I get irritated and the pain of the neddle drives me crazy! I have seen many people who go to doctors have injections as if they are having a cup of coffee at a restaurant! I mean about the casual way they are having for taking the injection! For me, though I am not fussy while taking the injections, I really hate to have a neddle to be inserted into my body! How about you? For that matter I am a Vet and I give lot of injections per day to my Throughbreds! LOL! Please respond! Thanks!

It's very ironic that you would start this discussion as I'm going in about 30 minutes to have my weekly allergy injections! I've been get my shots, as I call them, for at least 14 years, so I suppose I've gotten used to it. I get two shots, one in each arm sometimes. It's to build up my antibodies to certain new things that I'm allergic to. It's not a very fun experience, but I go through with it for my health's sake! The things we do to stay healthy - lol. However, when I think about the fact that I'm having a needle put into my skin that contains who knows what all I'm allergic to, then it makes me really tense and it hurts! If I don't think about it and relax, the injection is perfectly fine. They say if you're tense when you're getting an injection, it will hurt more especially afterwards. So I try my best to relax when I'm getting them.

Thank you so much for BR! Obviously, this subject is something near and dear to my heart since I've been getting allergy shots for...hmm...I think going on 13 or 14 years. It's been a while, so I'm very much looking forward to doctors coming out with a cure for allergies. I know anything is possible, and I've actually heard a couple different things that have come out to cure allergies. How exciting! Thanks again, my friend.

Yes, I hate an Injection as part of my treatment. But if I need to take a capsule or tablet as part of my treatment I will take that. Injection is my last option to treat my sickness.

I have always hating jabs and the last two i've had i've passed out during or shortly after. I don't know why I just hate them even talking about them now is making my arm feel all weak and horrible!! I was recently told that acupuncture would be good to treat my arm condition, I sucked it up, I was brave, I faced my fear.....I was on the floor within minutes...it might have helped my arm but the rest of me sure felt like hell!!
I've never had to have blood drawn but i'm dreading the day I do!!

I think for me to hate the injection is not the right word to use, the right word for me is don't like it as part of my treatment. Every time the doctor told me that I will need to have a few or an injection my palm will directly became so cold and automatically get sweat. But to tell the truth, I think the injection pain is not that much which I can't stand. I just don't get my self why every time I heard about injection which I have to take, then the whole body will become cold. Guess may be my nervous system already mark that injection word will make my body shaking and cold hahahaha

Yes, I mean definitely, I think most of the people hate to have injections as a part of their treatment. Actually, an year ago I suffered from DENGUE (a severe disease caused by mosquitos), I had a blood test (using an injection)after every three or four hours, I was hospitalized for seven days and the result was that I got used to INJECTIONS....LoL

I hate going to the doctors altogether. I think it is because when I was a kid, whenever we went to the doctors office, no matter what the complaint was..we got a shot. I would cry and cry. I hate shots. The funny thing is, I don't mind giving blood, but I hate when something is injected.

Going to the doctors is scary enough as it is. You never know what kind of new sickness they'll find in you. I'm a bit paranoid, so I often get nervous when it comes to doctor's appointments. That's why I rarely keep them. But when you have to go, you have to go.
It was the post-SARS days when I had to go to a study tour in China. My mom made sure to bring me to the doctor before leaving. I was so scared because I heard from my friends that they were giving shots to those leaving the country. I was really nervous that time since my last shot was about a couple of years ago.
And I had the right to be because they injected, not one, but three shots! Some vaccines whose names I can't even remember. Not only that, but they also had to draw blood from my arm. It was probably the most semi-traumatic time of my life. *shivers* I hope I never have to go through that again.

I don't need them very often at all but needles have never bothered me even when having blood drawn. My s/o has a problem with them thoough. The last time he had to have blood drawn he passed out cold and was too shaky and weak afterwards to go back to work for two full days.

I really hate injections but unfortunately, I have to have daily injections and blood tests regularly. You do get used to them after a while ......

back when i was in elementary, i had dengue fever.. they needed to get blood samples from me every few hours to check my platelet count (which means they inject me to get some blood out).. and i really hate it.. i used to give the nurses a hard time.. but one of them said that the needle might break (while it's being injected) if i move too much.. i didn't even resisted after that.. fearing that the needle might really break.. lol..
