Since I'm back in the city, I would love to watch a movie this week. I have been away for too long. I haven't even logged into my myLot account for a few months. I was thinking maybe I could watch I am Legend but there are other movies out there too. I want to get my money's worth. What movie would you guys recommend me watching? Thank you in advance.

Well, I finally managed to catch two movies this past two weeks.
I did a write up about it. You can read it here.
I am Legend -- http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1366522.aspx
National Treasure:Book of Secrets -- http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1368371.aspx
If you ask me, I would rather you watch the National Treasure:Book of secrets.
I am also trying to plan some time to watch Alvin and the ChipMunks.
If you are into chinese war epics, I heard mixed reviews about Warlords.
I am also thinking of going to watch Enchanted. I wonder if it is still screening.

Sweeney Todd is excellent; I went and saw it Tuesday. The Golden Compass was also really good. But if you're a Tim Burton fan, or a Johnny Depp fan, or a Sondheim fan, or, well, anybody, really, go see Sweeney Todd.

Not black and white, just very dark and gloomy. There's an especial abundance of RED, of course :)

Hi argie713,
I'd personally recommend something other than "I am Legend" - anything else, in fact.
"I am Legend" is a VERY poor attempt at remaking a classic film titled "The Omega Man" starring Charleton Heston.
"The Omega Man" is a brilliant film - it keeps you on edge throughout, with a suspenseful plot full of colorful characters, twists and turns, fear and exhilaration, sadness and joy, drama and intrigue, and leads ultimately to a riveting and wholly unexpected climax.
In contrast, "I am Legend" is just plain boring. It bores you, and then it bores you some more. And then, to underscore the low calibre of the film, it just ends - no climax or anything, not even any story to speak of.
Will Smith has done himself a disservice by taking on the lead role in this particular film.
In my judgment, "I am Legend" is a complete waste of time. Don't waste yours - find something else to go see instead.

I agree with dodoguy - I almost fell asleep during that movie - too much hype was put into it and it really isn't worth spending money on!

The only that I am waiting for is, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Though there are more to come, I am more focused on this and can't hardly wait to see this on the big screen.
AVP2 will be on my list also, Rambo, Iron Man, Wall-E and The Dark Knight would be the respective movies that are on my list of most anticipated films this year..

I haven't seen any new movies lately, but I want to see that Alvin & The Chipmunks movie and The Bucket List. Both of those movies look pretty good. I'm hoping me and my boyfriend might be able to go out on a movie night date soon.

Just thought of 2 more movies I want to see-- Juno and P.S. I love you.
We were going to go see the P.S. one last night, but ended up doing something else in stead.
That Juno movie looks pretty cute. Me and my best friend want to see that one. Maybe you and your girl friends would like it too.

We recently saw "National Treasure: Book of Secrets." It was a great family movie. It had lots of action and was almost as good as the first. My pre-teen daughters really enjoyed it. I fully recommend it.

I am planning to see I am Legend next weekend. A movie I did see was "Charlie Wilson's War" which is allegedly based on a true story of a Texas congressman who got the United States involved in helping the Taliban fight the Russians in the 1980's.
I am also interested in seeing the WaterHorse.

This is a good post. I have myself also not been on myLot for a long time now. Your post triggered me to write today. Of course I have nothing to suggest. This is more to welcome you back. Hope you will keep posting. I am in other part of the world and so my suggestions will not be appropriate.
Hope someone will come forward. Happy new year and best of luck.

I recommend National Treasure:Book of Secrets. Although, I have not seen this yet, but because I saw the first, I will assume the secone is just as good.

I highly recommend 'Atonement', 'Juno' and 'Enchanted'.. (I heard 'I am Legend' is quite intense and horrific, which I'm not really in to).
Of course, it's a matter of taste and what type of movie you generally like to watch.
Whatever you see, I hope you enjoy it. Maybe you can let us know what you watched and how you liked it.

I haven't seen any, you'd be better of suggesting ones to me.
The last one I seen was the simpsons movie, I don't get much chance to go to the cinema because my wife's always wanting to take care my son. (not much time alone) so it's hard to do those things we used to do, it's cool though. it's fun watching movies together as a family when we can.

I would save your $$ until "I am legend" comes out on Dvd. I think too much hype was put out on that movie and it wasn't as good as I thought it would be, but that is my opinion though.
Alvin and the Chipmunks were ok, National Treasure was ok too (I expected more though) - maybe I was having a bad month and didn't really like any of them haha
