My tooth is aching now and I really need some help. It's been like this for almost 3 hours now. I have to fill my mouth with water and let it stay for me not to feel the pain. After gulping the water, the pin comes back. I went to the dentist last New Year's Eve and she didn't want my tooth extracted for me to enjoy my New Year. I really regretted not having my tooth extracted then. I really need help since it's already late night here and I can't get out of the house to get to a dentist or buy some pain killers. :-( I would really appreciate your tis. Thank you!

Oh I'm so sorry....I know how bad that can hurt.If you have any gloves(whole)in the house....put one of them directly on the tooth.....that will help ease the pain.Other than that I really don't know what els you can do if you don't have any pain meds.
Hope you get to feeling better soon.

the best suggestion if you cant get out of the house or go to the dentist right now is to use ice chips or ice cubes.. keep it in your mouth at all times so that it freezes it... wait until its good cold and frozen and you should be ok for a bit.. then do it again... you really need to get into the dentist and get this tooth extracted

I never use ice chips or ice cubes for my pained tooth. As ache is an intermittent symptom for my certain tooth's growth, I usually go to hospital but reduce pains by myslef. One good way is that putting a ginger slice into my mouth and keeping it on the pain tooth...

I know how you feel with the tooth pain. If you have some vanilla extract in the house try putting some on a cotton ball and putting it on the tooth. Gargling some salt water might help too. I hope that you can get the pain to dull a little so you can get some sleep.

First wash the mouth with salt water and then store the clove near the tooth. This would naturally help you. You may not visit the dentist for this.

What you can do until you can go to the dentist is get some of that adult tooth ache gel. Also plain asprin, take 2, mash it up and place it over the tooth that hurts. That will help take the pain away for a few hours. You can also suck on a ice cube in the area where the tooth hurts. The ice will numb the gum around the infected tooth. Now if your 21 and older, you can go to a store that sells whiskey and buy a small bottle of whiskey. You can get those tiny little bottles of Jack Daniels, any whiskey will do. The whiskey will kill anything around th infected tooth. Also instead of whiskey, you can take a cap full of peroxide, and swish around the tooth and make sure you rinse a lot. These are a few ways to relieve pain until you see a dentist.
Hope this helps.

Rinsing your mouth with warm salt water will help and you have any clove oil put some of that round the painful tooth, the best pain killer to take is ibuprofen if you can get some. I've also heard putting a crushed garlic clove round the tooth and gum can help, though it wouldn't smell nice.

oh honey, toothaches are such pains.... not easy to ignore. I am sorry for your discomfort and hope that by now you have found some relief.
next time perhaps you can try some cloves or clove oil on the effected tooth - it helps to numb it, much like the orajel or ambesol products.

I can pretty much guarantee if you want more pain do not go with what I am about to suggest, go to the door and tie a bit of string to your tooth and then have someone yank the door open.
If not try going to the dentist to have it checked out it might be something more than a tooth pain.

i know how you feel... i experience a bad toothache as well before and it is really killing me... i have to do a root canal treatment at the end because i refuse to extract the tooth... but it still gives me problem every now and then... anyway, try to gargle same salt water in your mouth for 3 minutes every now and then to ease the pain... salt can act as a disinfectant to kill the bacteria for the time being and it works for me when i have a toothache to reduce the pain... good luck and hope you will feel better soon... :-)

Hi argie713,
Sorry to hear you're having tooth trouble. Chew some cloves to reduce the pain and throbbing - better yet, put some clove oil on a bit of cotton wool and put that in your mouth against the gum next to the problem tooth. That will fix the pain.
As for the actual problem with the tooth - you might be able to resolve the issue yourself if you get into some serious herbal stuff. But it might be easiest to just have the tooth removed, and maybe even grow a new one instead (yes, it is possible - but that's another story).
Hope it works out. If not, then you might consider donning a mask and cape, and taking your anguish out on criminals and evil-doers in a new super-hero crime-fighting career. Nothing like a severe toothache to motivate some violence.

get some clove oil or chew on some garlic cloves. they used to be used in dentist offices a while ago to help numb the pain. i've never tried it myself but many people tell me it works.
