I really enjoyed watching Home Alone which starred Macaulay Culkin. As a child, it was my favorite Christmas movie.
When I was in third grade, my teacher made us watch the Sound of Music (a very old movie) which starred Julie Andrews. I enjoyed the musical and I have memorized some of the songs in the movie.
How about you? What movies do you remember watching when you were a child?

My absolute favorite movie when I was younger (actually not that long ago, I'm pretty young now!), was the Lion King. I watched it constantly (and I do mean constantly). The Sound of Music was really a good movie, not really my type as a general rule, but I did enjoy it!

I remember seeing Disney's "Lady and the Tramp" in a drive in when I was VERY young. It could not have been when it first came out though - Googling reports it came out in 1955, two years before I was born! So I have no idea how old I was ...
I also remember seeing Born Free and I remember being a little embarrassed crying at the ending. I was somewhere around 10 or 11 then.

I'm now into watching old movies. I just watched Pretty Woman recently because I never had a chance to watch it when I was younger. I think there are a lot of good old movies. Thanks for the reply.

I remember watching Star Wars too! It was so popular that the only seats left in the theatre were the ones in the very first row. I can remember actually sitting on the floor and trying to watch the film. I felt that I was looing up the actors' noses.

When I was six years old, my mom let me watch a scary movie. It wasn't too scary to me, and it still isn't that scary, but I absolutely loved it. It was Stephen King's Cats Eye. It's about a little girl who has a cat and a bird. There is a troll (very small) that keeps coming in to try and hurt the little girl and the cat saves her several times. Then the troll kills the bird and the cat is blamed for it. The cat gets put outside, and the troll tries to get the little girl. The cat forces it's way inside and saves the girl. I absolutely love that movie, and when my children are old enough, that will be the first scary movie I will let them watch.
I also still love the movie Twister. I was about 13 when it came out, and I can still watch it to this day.
There are several more that I love, but I don't think you want to read a really long post.

I remember seeing "The Sound of Music" in the theatre. I guess we watched "The Wizard of Oz" quite a bit. I don't remember many movies before I was 10 or 12 years old, but I remember we had black and white TV (only one) as color had not yet become popular.

I must have seen The Sound Of Music at least 15 times. I also remember watching The Wizard Of Oz every year for least 14 years. Back in the day both The Sound Of Music and wizard Of Oz would air once each year.I also remember seeing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. These are the films for children I remember but I also saw some films that looking back I believe i got to see. I saw Midnight Cowboy, the first movie to get an X rating, on regular t.v. regularly when I was a kid. And I saw The Boys In The Band, a film that deals with homosexuality, when I was too young to understand what that means. But film I remember the most is when I got to see Grease in the theaters. I was the last of my friends to see it and it was worth the wait.

I can still remember Jaws. I think it really instilled a fear in me of sharks. And that's good, because they really are dangerous!

To this day, The Wizard of Oz, always brings back a lot of memories for me. That was the one movie as a kids i was allowed to stay up late to watch when it came on tv. I love that movie. My poor husband, on the other hand, has nightmares of that movie cause his brother used to scare him when the witch would come on. I think it's a wonderful movie for children though if it's taken in the right context. God bless

the amount of movies ive watched in my life is overly high.. and i have quite the memory for remembering anything i see or hear.. so i can quote most any movie ive watched even 2 or 3 times.. so the list of movies id have to write to answer this question is excessively long.. full metal jacket is probably one of the first movies i ever remember quoting though.. the first 15 minutes or so of that movie still put me in tears decades later..

I specifically remember watching All Dogs Go To Heaven And The Great Mouse Detective. I was always afraid of the evil bat with the peg leg and the fangs.

I still remember Mighty Ducks! First feel good movie I remember watching since childhood! What year was it first shown anyway? Hmmmmm.... That was a long time ago! Another one was Alive, the one when a rugby team got stuck in a snowy mountain? Oh man that was the first survival movie I watched. That was something!
