What is is that makes a man, a man? Is it how he acts? Is it going to work to support his family? Is it helping to take care of the family, like changing diapers or feeding the baby? Is it helping to take care of the house, like doing the dishes or vacuuming?
Or is it that he feels that because he has to go to work to support the family that he doesn't have to any of what I mentioned above? I mean, is it really fair to make the woman not only take care of the children, but the house as well when all he has to do is go to work? Is it fair when she asks him to please feed the baby and he responds by telling her to get a job and he'll stay home and take care of the kids because she is taking away precious sleep time?
I don't get it, I really don't!! It's not like she asked to stay home and do all this stuff by herself. I mean, what's the saying...it takes two to tango. She isn't the only one that needs to be there for the kids and to take care of them!! And I personally don't think it's very fair to make her have to clean up after everyone!! I understand that was how it was back in the 50's/60's, but we aren't in that time frame anymore!! There are many women that do not believe in being barefoot and pregnant and having to take care of house and home!! So is it fair of her to ask "so much" of him if he works? At least he gets the weekends off, but when does she get a day off?
So what is it? What makes a man, a man?

Maybe a better question would be 'what makes a man a family man?' From your post, the man you describe does not meet his responsibility as a husband and a father, beyond the role of bread-winner, which is not enough. There are many different types of men, including some that do not have a family.

Gee thanks, I'll try to be more specific next time. And thanks for answering my question.

No problem. Hopefully I didn't sound like I was being critical. Just trying to understand the question and to provide an answer. Your post seemed to be about a certain type men rather than men in general. Otherwise a biological definition, such as was provided by the first responder, is the only answer to the question. :-)
