"If God can create 300 versions of the hummingbird, what makes you think he can't create hundreds of different relegions?"

IMO God made one religion - belief in Him. Mankind made all the different variations and sects.

Yes I would as God, He is the Creator, has been around since the beginning of time and has been given/called by many names by many different people.

Succinct and to the point. I like. But would you put the ancient religions in there as well? Greek? Babylonian? Hittite? Aztec?

God creates Hummingbirds, Man creates religions. What makes you think God created even one religion? The primary reasons religions were created is Money and Power. Christian Religion is the single most, wealthiest, business organization in the world, and this should not be surprising because its been operating tax free for almost 2000 years. When General Motors needs a new roof on a building, GM pays for the new roof. When a church needs a new roof the parishioners pay for the new roof themselves. My God, those guys who dreamed up religion were Smart!

It isn't G-d that creates the religion, it is man that creates religion so that he can praise G-d in the way he feels is best. There is one superior being with many names because G-d's children are so different and need different paths to reach Him.

Interesting. I really think that God as the Supreme Being has created A relegion based on His teachings and views. We make the different religions based on what we want. For example Martin Luther left the Catholic church because of what the popes and kings allowed. Seems that even in the basic Christian religions we have a pick and choose system. Some dont believe in drinking or dancing. Some dont believe in blood transfusions. The Catholic church believes that when we take communion it is the actual body and blood of Christ. Others like the Episcopal and Methodists believe it is a symbol. Jews have their own ideas as does the Islamic faith. Funny how things change through the eons of history.

I came to know that according to puranas, God created 4 classes of human beings-4 kinds of skills- one was academic learning skills, the second was a warrior clan exhibiting fighting skills, next came the trader community and then the class that could do heavy labour. Humming birds and their varieties are seen . Religion is not seen , only the religious heads that propounded the religion were seen. Probably that is why there are few religions in the world. Now, if different knids of men propound different beliefs, and succeed in getting a good following, these , in course of time would become new religions I am sure.I normally don't break my head over these things.

There was only one hummingbird to begin with. We are to worship God in only one way. The first Commandment says, 'Thou shalt have no other gods before me." That means you are to only worship God, not Allah, not Buddha. These other religions are made by man. Each religion has different beliefs, so what happens if one belief conflicts with another? Read the Bible, learn what it says. God is only to be worshiped.

But that's what all the monotheistic religions say _ Just because one says it is right, what makes it right? The number of people following it? It's age? The average intellect of the followers?

Lol.. That's a good one, but I think it would sound better if it ended "what makes you think he can't be in more than religion" I think to many assume that god in fact in theirs and not in others and although I don't believe myself. I believe that a form watches over those who do and he's the god of many, not just one or a few. ~Joey

only one flaw to this thought. God didn't create so many, humans did just because they believe they know the right way that leads to Him, and so they came up with this and that route. My thought for a long time is Love yourself it's healthy It reminds of taking vitamins regularly and sleep well.

because God is Truth and Truth can not contradict, He can not be and be against Himself all at once. Plus, I believe the different varieties of hummingbirds probably came about through macro evolution - you know, selective breeding and such.

Unlike the hummingbirds, the different religions tend to fight with one another, so I'm more inclined to believe man created religion. The birds after all, live in harmony.

I had to chuckle when reading this... Did you know that those cute, darling, innocent looking hummingbirds all started out life as a murderer? the momma hummingbird lays 2 eggs in her nest - the babes quickly become too big for both occupants and one throws the other out. survival of the fittest,as they say.

No, I did not know that. I will have to tell my sister how lucky she is.... It probably is survival of the fittest, but after the initial squabble there appears to be only normal living habits. Which of course includes territorial squabbles from time to time, but nothing like the "holy wars" include. BTW...what faith are those hummingbirds? Any chapters near by?

I think God may can create hundreds of different religions.but the master of the live is ourselves.I believe God or Buddhism are all existent in the world.Sometimes they hold out our spirit. But i completely believe humam can do whatever they want to do .
