When I was young, public school was alright! But nowadays, I believe if I could afford it, I would put my kids in a private school!
I believe they would learn more, and not get the trash that is in public schools!

I believe it depends on what part of the country you are from. Public schools can offer many things that private schools can't. For example if your child has any type of learning disability, most private schools will not accomodate the child. Unless you are going to a school specifically for learning disabilities.
Just remember if you don't like the public school in your area, then try for out of district placement.

Personally, I think my children attending public schools is good, but that is because we are in a small rural community. With the average number of students per grade around 50-60 kids, I feel my children aren't just a number in the school. Plus this school offers many programs such as FFA, and have many other in school organizations. We have a private Catholic school in the area as well as a private Lutheran school, and those both only go as far as 8th grade. I didn't think it would be prudent to put the kids in either of those schools, pay the tuition, and then have them have to integrate with the public school kids as freshman. I attended enough schools as a child that I didn't want to move my children away from friends they had already made.

i think it depends on the status of the income of the family because there are some who can afford to send their kids to private schools but unfortunately lots of poor people can't afford it...but of course, it's very much ok if i will send my kid to a private school because the learning is really an advantage..with high standards of learning and your kid can learn lots of things and new things unlike to a public school it's only limited learning..
