What do you think about making excuses?

Difficulty is the excuse history never accepts (Edward R. Murrow). Niney-nine percent of failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses (George W. Carver). Often, we find out that some people spend most of their time giving excuses, rather than putting in their best to see how they can go about making good achievements. What do you think?

There's one thing that people do not realize about excuses. They are usually true, but they don't change one single thing. It is up to you to do that. Get past the excuses and get on with it.

First thing that came to my mind was a friend of mine who can read. He was telling me everything he does to work around the fact that he can and all the reasons why he could not read. After a lengthy detailed list of excuses, I responded with "the length of time and amount of effort you take in avoiding it you could spend on actually learning to read."
He is now taking night classes in literacy.
Here's hoping!

I agree. People who make excuses, at least fairly regularly, see themselves as victims. Those that make mistakes and own up to them, move ahead by overcoming their mistakes and become successful. You need failure to become successful, for this tells you to change course. You cannot fail unless you give up.
