So this season was a very sad one indeed for us long time Dolphins fans. It started last off season when they signed Cam Cameron passing up many other great coaches. I wanted to scream when he signed Ginn at #9...Don't get me wrong he is a great player but I think they could have picked someone else that would have helped out more. So then they sign Trent Green, sounds like a good choice unless you remember the bad concussion he suffered last year and low and behold he suffers another one this year and does Cam go out and get another QB? No, he relies on Cleo Lemon and John Beck, not good enough to rely on leading a team. I mean the whole season was turmoil, Getting rid of Welker, Chambers, McMichael. Ronnie Brown getting injured for the season, Ricky Williams coming back only to get taken out..It's just crazy.
But then here comes Bill Parcels. He already fired Randy Mueller and Cam Cameron. Ireland is the new GM and soon they will be going after Sporano as the Head Coach. Parcels is making the right decisions so far and now with having the number one draft pick and I can only assume they he will use it for good. Despite the rough season they had I think things are looking up for the Phins.

Let's look at it this way. The old saying in Atlanta when the Braves were probably considered the worst team in major league baseball...WORST TO FIRST! Then the built a great dynasty under John Schuerholz and one 14 straight division titles and one world series. OK, it would have been nice to have more world series wins, but one thing was for sure and still is: The Braves make for some interesting and exciting baseball. Now back to the Dolphins.
I was born a Dolphin fan. Someone said that when I was being delivered, a football came with me as did a Dolphins jersey. I was born in 1964 and loved the Dolphins ever since. This past year was definitely the worst in history for them, but I have all of the confidence in the world that they will come out fighting next year and with Bill Parcells (who I liked as the Head Coach of the Giants) as part of the organization now, we are definitely going to see some great improvements. Could you see Dan Marino at the helm again as QB? He kind of looks like he can still play a great game even with all of his injuries, but anyway, look for the Dolphins to make a run for the playoffs next year.
Remember the Dolphins! Remember the Alamo! Remember 16-0 and the first team to accomplish the feat without cheating. Sorry New England, but you did not truly earn the right this year fair and square. Early on with the help of the play books of the other teams that you helped yourself to makes it easy to beat the other team. Good going. I really did not think that was very Patriotic.
The Dolphins can be helped by shaking Huzienga up as well and letting him know that it is necessary to spend some money for some good players.
Dolphins in '08, not Hillary.

AMEN! And I agree with you in every aspect. And yes, I've been saying since 2000 that Dan still has at least another good year in him, he looks as healthy as ever too, I would love to see him step back out on the field. We can wish and dream right? And I agree with you about the Patriots not getting this whole undefeated season fairly, and even if the whole 'Spy Gate' didn't happen then let me point out that in 1972 it was a lot more physical play. Now Tom Brady has the beauty of saving his pretty boy face from getting creamed and back then Greise didn't have the luxury, Miami's 17-0 will forever be more meaningful then the Patriots of today.
Back to the rebuilding, I think Parcells will make Wayne Huzienga see that he has to spend money to get the veterans he needs to teach all this young talent.
Thank you for your post, It's great to hear from other diehard Dolphins fans.

The new season has started. I don't expect too much, but they started to look okay the 4th quarter against the Jets. Just took too long to get it going.

Yeah I'm not expecting a whole lot but I could see them as a definite .500 team. At least I'm hoping. What hurt them last Sunday was the lack of their running game. As good as Williams has been this preseason he just couldn't get anything on the ground started and Ronnie Brown is still nursing his injuries and didn't add much either. 50 combined yards between both of them? Not a good way to get started. If they can get their running game going then Pennington is going to be able to utilize the playaction for some quick passes and they will be able to string together some impressive drives and hopefully impressive wins.

I am not a diehard Dolphin fan but am a diehard NFL fan and the thing I didn't understand at all with the Dolphins this season is where was the defense? I really thought with getting Porter and having the cast of characters they had on defense that they were going to be one of the better defenses in the league. They got off to a very slow start on that side of the ball and I thought they would develop some chemistry and play well but that never happened. This question is to you Dolphin fans. Where was the Miami D in 2007?

I agree that the Defense wasn't as good as it should have been this past season. But by the time they started coming together and playing well the offense was non-existent and it was making the Defense tired. As good as they are you have to think about it, just about everyone on the starting defense other than the d-backs are 30+. They had tons of injuries on that side of the ball and they just got worn out. Now if they can all stick around another year I'm sure they'll be an amazing defense but we will just have to wait and see.
