I think that changing hair color, choose a dress style, want to use make up and other things that can change our estetic means that the child is searching social approvation. Every change we make is for appearing more interesting to others (friends, guys...).

Why not? Let them be creative and be themselves. I think I would rather my kids have colored hair than nose or lip rings! Those you can't cut away in a few months time or let grow out.
My oldest daughter has had her hair colored twice now. She takes her birthday money and pays for it herself and I let her choose what she wants. The first time she did it, she had Fusia highlights and it looked awesome! It eventually faded out to a blonde color. Last year she did green, and had it done all the way around all underneath, so when she pulled it up into a ponytail it looked like all her hair was green! It was cool.

Yeah, I probably would, a mild purple in consideration of school.. I always tried to let my kids have control over what things they could.. like their clothes, unless they wanted to be revealing.. My daughter used to make her daughter wear what she wanted her to, and I told her, you'll have trouble with her later if you don't let her have some control, cause kids don't have much control.. And they'll be rebellious at a certain age anyway.. so why compound that.. They always grow out of these things.. Always let my daughter play with makeup when she was little, so she wouldn't be so nuts about it when she got older, so her makeup wouldn't be a siren call to the boys..

I would let them color their hair any color they want to. I believe in expressing your individuality. As long as they are still good kids, and keep their grades up, I don't care what color their hair is. Now, when they are old enough to get a job... I will discourage it, but I won't tell them that they can't do it.

Where we live the school will not allow them to wear un-natuaral har color to school..I think that is ridiculous. Teenagers are needing a way to express them selves..if changing their hair color works for them then why now. My daughter has has blue and red tips lol..she also has about 4 holes in each ear now. and her navel

First it depended on their age. But if they were 16 or older than ya I would. Why, because I was the same way when I was that age and my mother gave me a lot of crap for it and would not let me be who or what I wanted to be. I do believe in letting your kids be who they want to be as long as they still respect you as a parent.

Sure, my mom let me do it. Kool-Aid is cheap and temporary and has lots of fun colors. It's only hair. If they are young, let them do it on weekends and wash it out before school.

i think we should let kids do as they would like with their hair, we should just protect them for harm.

Depends on their age I think. If it was for like Halloween and their younger then maybe. If my child was like 16 then maybe. I guess overall it depends on the parent and if they feel they will allow their child to do that.
