My Yuwie Experiment is Over

For those of you who don't know, I joined Yuwie. I wanted to know if there was real money to be made, or if it was the sort of thing you had to have a million referrals who had a million referrals who had a million referrals in order to make money. You always here people say, "Yuwie is so great, you will make lots of money, come join!" and of course they have a referral link. So, I joined. Worked there quite often and found out what Yuwie was like. First of all, Yuwie is boring. There are a lot of people who copy and paste codes in your comments, making "beautiful", glittering banners. Few people really have anything to say. You just hop from one profile to another, hoping that when you leave a comment, they actually visit your profile to do the same for you. While I was there I "made" 409 "friends". I wrote a few messages, several comments, uploaded 25 pictures, created a profile layout, and wrote ten blogs. I received 1329 page views. I invited no one. I didn't want referrals for this experiment. I made seven cents. I spent about 25-30 hours on Yuwie for seven cents. So, if you invited ten people and they worked 25-30 hours making seven whopping cents, and they invited ten people, and they invited ten people, and they invited ten people (on down the ten tiers) you would make six dollars and ninety seven cents. So, the truth about Yuwie is, you need to get people fired up. You need to lie to them and tell them you are doing great. You need to get more and more people who are working hard. So, many that it doesn't matter when people drop out bored, frustrated, or enlightened. That's the truth about Yuwie.

My experience was the same and I too left. I put less effort in there than you did as I realised that it just was not about what they say it was about... socialising! If that is a socialising aite then someone got the definition wrong and I feel people are being wrongly enticed to join. Socialising is NOT about adding 'beautiful' banners to other peoples profiles. It's about communication!

Well people don't make money in Facebook or myspace. The problem is that Yuwie created false hope aroung earning money by inflating it.

Both mySpace and facebook have something to offer. Yuwie doesn't even have anything to offer, outside of the money making aspect. They don't have a message board where people can really communicate, they don't have a great way to keep up with old friends, they just have glittery banners and tons of people hoping to make a buck.

There are clubs that work as message boards, you can join or start your own.

I joined Yuwie in a moment of weakness and have never been back there. I just didn't care for it. The only thing I liked about it was how easy it was to do a page layout. I wish MyLot's profile page was that easy. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I went on yuwie after seeing the it so great just like myspace but you make money for it. I made a profile and visited a couple times and said Boring and not getting anywhere so I have let the account sit I don't even know my screen name or password it's been so long.LOL!! But your right to much work not enough profit for it. I'd rather be here talking to the friends I have and getting recipes off of everyone rather than nothing from yuwie. Have a nice day!!

Thank you and to think I was going to join, I would have been extremely upset to find I had only made 7 cents after 25 long hours of work online, what a rip off that would be.

I want to thank you for your experiment with yuwie. I did a discussion a while back about it because I was getting lots of invites to it and that I could make all this money. But when I looked into it I thought that it would be impossible. I don't do referrals on Mylot and I am not one for going around and trying to do that anyways. Also I don't like to feel I am not being honest and with honesty I would have to say it would be a lot of work. Thanks for you telling people honestly your experience with them. :)

Oh cmon... it's not a get rich quick scheme if that's what you're thinking... Everything is all about hard work. I've been there since late august 2007 and made much less than you did when i started because i wasn't really active... I only became active end of october so my earnings are around a dollar or so... That's because i have referrals... and been joining clubs and have been adding friends a lot and stuff. My experiment with Yuwie hasn't ended yet. I believe you wanted to see if you could earn a lot by doing it on your own there without any referrals and stuff but i think you should start experimenting on how much you'd make if you have referrals. Why not try again this time with that in mind? Mylot and Yuwie is a lot different. Each has advantages and disadvantages. But lately i've been more active in Yuwie and am quite enjoying it this far. The key to Yuwie is having lots of friends and referrals. Just my two cents worth. =)

LOL...well, most people wouldn't join if I told them they could make seven cents for hours of writing, adding friends, commenting, and participating in Yuwie. In order to get a lot of referrals I would have to convince them it is worth it. It is only worth it if you can get a lot of active referrals and you can bust your butt there. At the same time, there isn't really a lot of things to do there. It becomes boring very quickly. I worked hard and had 409 new friends in one month, and made seven cents. No matter how it looks, I can't ask someone to join. I just can't. Sure I could make money if they did, but it just isn't worth it to them any more then it is me. MyLot is different because while I think it isn't worth the few pennies one makes to post here, it is fun and informative. You can come here and learn, ask questions, and get answers. It is about more then just the few pennies they throw our way to entice us here...As far as I could tell (in six whole weeks) Yuwie didn't have anything but the hopes of making money on there to make it worth anything. I am not after a get rich type of scheme, I don't believe they exist. I have no problem working hard for my money. I just expect to enjoy doing it and to be able to work hard enough to make a living. On Yuwie, it can't happen, unless you lie to a bunch of people (and I do mean a bunch) and get a huge down line. Just not my style. But good luck to you.

I guess it depends. I love what I do and have been making a few hundred a month...looking at increasing that to a thousand a month in the next few months and doing a fairly good job too! So, It really depends!

You made far more than I did. I was a member for 2 months, had no referrals but was very active in the forums, posting and responding to discussions and made about 6 cents in 2 months. IMO, the only way to make any money with Yuwie is like you said -- have a billion ACTIVE referrals with them having each a million referrals and you can make money. I haven't signed in to my Yuwie account in over a month. To heck with it. I don't have that kind of time online to make the money that some people really do make. myLot is a big enough waste of my time with the amount of time I spend here vs what I make each day. I gave up. I moved on to CashCrate. I'm close to $100 so far this month. Yay! www.cashcrate.com/225863

i believe you. there's no better site to earn and make friends with than mylot. i used to be very active in yuwie but - i guess their main concern is for the people to refer more people to join in their system. unlike mylot, you still earn just as much just by posting on discussions. and referring is just getting a bonus.

Sounds like you had a pretty bad experience with the Yuwie site. I had plenty of invitations but decided not to join. One discussion site was enough for me and myLot was the site I chose. It's fun, easy to manipulate around the site and have made several friends. I write when I feel like it so everything can be at a slow pace if that's my choice. Your stats are amazing. You have it all figured right down to the very cent. I recall a discussion where you thought you would have to cut back on spending time on myLot but am glad to see you back once in awhile. This is a fun place to be when the time allows.

I know how you feel about the time spend at Yuwie since I am going through the same feeling too. I have earned for three months now and yet I only get less than $1 since I only have less than 5 referrals and they are not really that active. I could easily make more than $30 on myLot in three months! Just imagine if I have spent up to 30 hours posting here... I would be getting lots of cents, BIG cents... LOL!

I joined in Yuwie in September last year. I gave it up a month later as I really got so low payment there. I think it's only USD0.02 and I prefer to earn in Mylot.

Thanks for sharing your experience in Yuwie with us here, and alerting us to the real potential of making money with this site. I read about all the hype when this programme was first launched, but decided not to jump on the opportunity like many people did. Many of these sites require a whole lot of time commitment before you can really earn well, and I don't have all the time to spare. I am trying one site where I can make like $3 to $5 a day, and which currently shows more than $200 in my total earnings counter. It looks like a much more lucrative programme for me to pursue, provided of course there will be payout when it is due. I'm sorry Yuwie didn't quite work out for you. I hope you find some other programme which you will enjoy participating in and earn some good returns too for your time.
