I love horror movies - horror movies

I am a horror movie fanatic. Basically that's all I watch and the reason is that I don't like to watch movies with happy people who are in love and get all mushy. I will sometimes watch a Sci-Fi movie or documentary but nothing that will depress me. Of course I think most of the horror movies of today are stupid but they are so mindless that I have to laugh at them. The only one that actually scares me and although I have watched it many times in the past I can't even watch the commercials any more or hear the soundtrack to it. Do you watch horror movies? Do you have a favorite that you have seen more than once and keep watching?

I hate romantic movies and stuff. Just a reminder that I don't have anything like that. I don't care much for action movies but the boys like them so I will watch them. Never really into comedy cause most times I don't find them that funny. I will watch cartoon movies with the kids and don't mind. I do like fantasy stuff like labyrinth and legend. I like horror or sci-fi movies most. I get into Halloween a lot and love all the old Horror movies. This year we watched every Halloween Movie I could get. 9 in total. Next Halloween I may do Freddy or Jason. BladeRunner is a all time favorite too.

Halloween 2 has been on the Chiller channel all week and I've watched it every time! I know what you mean about romance movies....I don't have anything like that either and they just make me feel bad about it. Even most comedies end up with some romance in them so I watch very few of those.

I love the supernatural stuff too. They are always better than the blood and guts movie aren't they?

I'm not a big fan of the newer horror movies. They tend to be just torture movies now and I just find those to be pointless. My favorite all time horror movie is the original Halloween. I just saw Rob Zombie's remake of it and I wasn't too crazy about it.

Personally I enjoyed Rob Zombie's remake. I have it on DVD and have watched it a couple of times. I was happy to finally see a face under that mask.

I think I would have liked it more had I not seen the original and been such a huge fan. I think part of why Michael Myers is so scary in the original is because he appears to come from an average normal family and we never really know why he starts killing. I do think Rob Zombie did a good job with the remake in making it his own. I need to watch it again.

Yup, I feel the same way. Love stories make me cry so I stay away from them. I also check out yahoo for trailers so I can see what's going to be good.

Well as you know, I love horror movies too. My favorite is, of course, the Nightmare on Elm Street series. Wes Cravens New Nightmare was on actually this past weekend on the movie channels and I was watching it while writing my midterm. Awesome. I've never really met a movie that scared me. The only ones that kinda freak me out are the ones that are based on true life like Mothman Prophecies or things like that (NOT Texas Chainsaw Massacre cause that's totally NOT based on a true story like they claim). When it comes to horror my favorites, besides Freddy, are the simple stories. The kind that take place in only one or two days. The kind that most average movie watchers find to be dull because they aren't all crazy like most movies. A recent Example: Hatchet. takes place in less than 24 hours. takes place in one basic location. has a very simple story. great movie. another great example: Jeepers Creepers. Also takes place in about 24 hours. takes place in one basic location. very simple story. great movie... and the sequel wasn't bad either.

I love both of the Jeepers Creepers movies but I think the second one is my favorite of the two.

The first one was way better than the second. It was a good sequel, don't get me wrong, but it wasn't as good as the first.

Hi ctry,...I love horror/spooky type movies..not the type that's all blood and guts, yuk. I guess I like more special effects than anything. Don't know if these are considered horror but I really liked these movies...the Fog, Alien, The Thing, The Omen, Silence of the Lambs, Predator, The Fly........kind of those type movies. I also like supernatural type movies as long as they're done well. I haven't been to a movie in ages but I'm sure I missed some really good one's.

I loved Silence of the Lambs but I hated the movie Hannibal. I read the book and the book was awesome. But like most movies once you've read the book the movie normally sucks compared to the book.

I really don't think you missed much! I did like Silence of the Lambs and the rest of the Hannibal Lecter movies following it.

Well I guess the Omen was one of my favourites, I ain't much into movies like Friday the 13th. I love it when the idea is scary rather than a lunatic with an electric saw chopping victims' flesh to pieces. I don't deny that i have always loved Nightmare On Elm Street though. Among the movie I liked was Blair Witch Project, Grudge and The ring. Thanx

I love most kinds of movies, horror has to be one of my favorite genres. I've got a few favourites, the Thing by John Carpenter,Alien by Ridley Scott are my sci fi favourites. Frailty with Mathew Mcounaghy is cool. I watched it last year and it instantly became a favourite. its about a detective who is approached by someone with info on a recent spate of killings, and slowly over the course of the film you see how a father involves his two sons aged 6 and 10 in mass murders. There is a cool twist in it aswell!!This isn't stricly a horror film but the ending in "Seven" is brilliant just the right mix of fear and tension.

Hello dear ctrymuziklvr. I love to watch horror movies. But sometimes when I have one without any company, I would like to close the inside door as if someone terrible would drop in to scare me. hehehe. I have to say that I love to see any kinds of horror movies, but I seldom watch one again and again. One time is enough for me to remember its scary scenes.

I hate horror movies but my husband loves them. I used to be scared out of my mind when we watched them but now I have seen so many that even I have become desensitized to them. I grew up hiding under the blankets while my mom watched the Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th movies. The first movie that really scared me was The Exorcist. I was really little the first time I saw that movie and I was so scared! My husband owns the movie and for years I refused to watch it. He finally convinced me to watch it again. I did, and it wasn't at all scary. It was just that I was little and had built it up to be this terrifying movie for so long. The Ring scared me though. It doesn't anymore, but it did the first time I watched it. I would still rather not watch horror movies, but they don't bother me like they used to.

lol....when my son was small he used to run upstairs to his bedroom and hide in his bed whenever I put a horror movie on and now he loves them at the ripe old age of 31. His fiance' on the other hand hates horror movies and she holds it against me for his liking them.

I don't like the human hambuger horror that has been out as of late. like the Saw series. Or Hostel. Not my cup of tea.I like Scream. It was well done. Or the Lost boys. Or When a Stranger calls. Something with a bit of thought behind it. Other than let's see how much blood we can spill in the most creative way. Yuck!

I don't think they get creative at all in the spilling blood department. Most of them are just chop up the teenagers. I do like Lost Boys or When A Stranger Calls.

I am a movie buff...So i watch pretty much every movie that i see on cable. Have you seen a korean horror movie ever? Well if not, you have to watch one. They make the best horror ever. Well actually not all. haha.. Just "the grudge" part 1 coz the sequel kinda sucks already coz u already know what to expect from it. And also the japanese film "the ring" likewise part 1 is the best. Other than these two, everything sucks. And you're right he supposedly horror movies they make now, is just really hilarious!!

yes, i do watch horror movies. i like watching horror movies especially when they are about evil spirits possesing people like the exorcist and the exorcism of emily rose. i don't like horror movies when they don't have demons, just like a movies that the one killing is a human being. i don't like this idea because i just think that most horrifying thing would involve ghosts or the spiritual realm. when watching person killing another person, i just think that they are stupid sometimes because instead of running, the victim is not moving at all, waiting for the killer to get to him/her. i just think those kinds of horror movies are stupid.

No I don't watch horror films because I like sleeping at night with the lights off. And I don't like being scared. I don't like the " romantic comedies" that are being made these days either. In fact they make me very homicidal.I like action films and suspense/mystery films.Films with surprise endings are my favorite.
