Mer and Der OVER??

I feel sorry for any woman he dates. And, I'm glad Meredith gets a break from him. He kisses another woman and the *very* next day talks to Meredith about building a dream house for the two of them. You'd think the subject of the kiss would be important. But, when Meredith mentions that she has legitimate reasons not to trust him, like him withholding information from her, he acts like she's making stuff up "looking for reasons" not to trust him. Well, he's making it so easy for her to find them. When she gets slapped by her father, and freezes on her intern exam, her friends don't wait for an invitation to be there for her. They, and the Chief come and support her, even when she's pushing them away. Derek sits around and mopes because she didn't go to him. He tells her it's unforgivable that she was dating Finn, even though he had decided to go back to Addison -what was Meredith supposed to do, stay loyal to someone who decided to be with someone else? And, this is how he's been with the "love of his life" I hate to think how he'd act with some poor woman he's with on the rebound. And, Meredith has issues, and if she's moving too slow for him, fine he can break it off. No need to stay in a relationship he's not happy in. But, Meredith is trying. Just because she can't move at his speed, doesn't mean she's not doing anything. She says she doesn't want him to date anyone else, and we can assume that means she wasn't planning on dating anyone either. That sounds like wanting commitment to me. Derek babbles to Mark about the "journey" being more important than the destination, and when Meredith says basically the same thing (those 100 steps before moving in together that she wants to take with him) he gets all put out. But, again, if he wants to move on to someone else, fine. I just wish he and the show would stop painting him as this wonderful knight in shining armor who's being jerked around by Meredith. At least paint them both as two flawed people. Because Derek has flaws out to here.

I think that it's not the fault of just one of them, but both together. I would love to see them together, and I think that they WILL be together when the show comes to an end (which I hope isn't anytime in the near future!). But, it is what keeps people coming back. Derek is ready to settle down. He's looking for someone who wants that, too. He also really wants that person to be Meredith. But she's not ready for that, and no amount of pushing can MAKE her ready. I agree that I feel sorry for Rose. He expects her to be there any time Meredith's not??!! All Mereith has to say is "I'm ready", and he'd dump that poor woman in a heartbeat. Ah, just can't wait for new episodes to finally air!!!!

with the way Meredith is acting in the series, Mcdreamy might as well date other women. Mcdreamy is wearing his heart out showing everyone how he loves mer... :( sad.

i think its great they where made for eachother

It bothers me because I'd like for them to be together, but at the same time, they're not getting to where they need to be. They both need different things and ultimately, he's pushing her away as much as she is to him, I find. I mean come on.... setting her up to freak out? If he really wanted to be with her, he wouldn't be looking for an out to be with someone that is more on his wave length. Maybe it's time, we'll see.

Initially, I didn't like that idea one bit. However, giving it some thought, it might liven up the series a little. Meredith and McDreamy only have so many places and plot lines. Actually, I have been more interested in the other stories going on for awhile anyway.

I think its time for Derek to show Meredith what she would be missing. She thinks he should wait forever and this isn't reasonable. We will have to wait and see whether the show decides to keep this new story line whenever the strike is over.

I'm glad that he is dating other people. Ofcourse I hope that ultimately he will see that he and meredith should be together. They just need some time apart. I think Angelwriter said it all pretty good. It was nice to see someone defend meredith a little bit.

great ! as long as its with merideth and ONLY merideth ! lol.. i love those two together especially the way mcdreamy looks at her like shes the only one in the world that he can see... geez im such a hopeless romantic ! lol

I think its good he needs to move on b/c Meridith seems to not want to give him what he wants and hes been sitting around waiting for a long time. She has trouble commenting and he wasn't going anywhere. So good for him. Maybe she will come around and see what she lost and finally decide to comment but then again it may be too late.Her bad

I think that Meredith deserves better. Derick is an idiot and I can not stand him!

I think it is awful. They are the basis of the whole show really. They are what have kept people coming back. Tell me it isn't so. They have to get back together. Maybe Meredith will come to her senses.

I feel sad, but I am still hoping that Meredith and Derek be back together because they are really a good match. You see, they are really in love with each other and I think there is nothing to worry about their relationship right now, it is just that Mr. McDreamy needs time for Meredith alone. The problem with Meredith she cannot leave the life she had, I mean her friends versus Derek, she will end up choosing her friends against Derek. But if Derek loves Meredith deeply he will wait. I hope that on the next episode they will change it, if the writiers strike finish. Oh please! give what the writers need, so Grey's Anatomy will resume again.
