best friend - how often do you talk?

My best friend doesn't live near me so we try to email at least a few times a week but sometimes we will go a couple of weeks without it and then catch up. I know she will always be my best friend so I don't feel like we have to talk everyday. How often do you talk to your best friend and do you feel you have to talk everyday to stay best friends?

my best friend also happens to be my ex's new wife but she and i have never lost contact for 3 years now. :) everytime one of us goes through a problem, we always call each other first. i can call her when i'm just bored or she calls me when she's bored. we call each other for recipes and just well, boredom! :) we probably talk once or twice a week every week!

My bestfriend is now based in the United Kingdom. It's been more than 6 years since she first set foot in UK. She comes home to the Philippines once in a while so we get to see each other and catch up on lost time. We communicate with each other as often as we could through Friendster, YM and even e-mails.

My best friend lives 200 miles away....we email each other every day at least once...on weekends sometimes it several times a day. I get to see her about 4 times a year maybe more once in a while....but we only talk on the phone if we don't hear from each other for 2 or more days....to let each other know if we are alright (when the internet goes down or a puter crashes!)

Yeah we do a check in on each other, even if we have nothing to say if we haven't heard. I had a scare that my friend was on vacation when a hurricane hit and I could not get a hold of her. Luckily they were ok but had problems getting back and phones were down.

You are lucky to have 2 best buddies. I can't text, too old and cheap I guess (haha). Although most of my friends have teenagers and say that is the only way they can talk to them anymore so they had to learn.

I'm lucky enough to have several extremely close friends. Unfortuantly, circumstance have meant we've all moved away from each other. I talk to one on MSN almost daily, another occasionally by email, and the third I hardly hear from at all. However, regardless on the communication front put us in a room together and it's like we haven't been apart at all. Roll on May and the next get together!

We do a yearly get-together with my closest friends and that helps a lot and when we get together it is the same like we have never been apart. I did lose touch with one great friend and I am so hurt because I have no way of finding her (tried name searches etc) but she could easily find me. I guess it wasn't a best friend.

My best friend and I live in the city. We have been friends for about 24 years (I'm only 29 :) We talk every day on msn, sometimes the phone, the odd time we play games on pogo. BUT she is moving away in the summer and then I dont know what I am going to do. I dont think we have to talk every day to remain best friends, but it helps :)

I have never thought about playing games together - that is a great idea. You will survive apart and find ways to stay friends, 24 years is a long time. My best friend and I have lived as close as next door and as far as different countries and it stands the test of time.

I have 2 best friends well 3 if you count my husband. My 2 best friends live not far away in the same Town. I don't see them all the time. One of my best friends I usually see once a week the other one once every 4 weeks sometimes longer. The one I don't see often has been my friend since we were 18 months old and thats why I call her my best friend.

I have a friend too that I have known since we were babies. We are very different but the long history is one thing that keeps us so close. We always have so many things to talk about because of our past.

friendship can be a little like love - you have to put yourself out there and can get hurt. Don't give up, there are a lot of good people out there and if you are a good friend you will attract others who want to be friends with you. Sorry to hear your last friendship did not work out well.

if your friend is a true friend you will find ways to keep in touch. Maybe if you set a date to meet either where you live or Canada and switch every other year it will help you keep the friendship going.

my dear friend and I do not talk very often - but when we do we do not like to stop. she called last night and we spoke for 3 and a half hours and could have gone another 3 if duties did not call me away. my other very good friend, also lives out of state - and I talk usually once a week for an hour and I drive out to her place once a month and we have a good long visit.

I also have friends that do not live near me but we all make an effort to visit each other a few times a year. Sometimes we email but mostlty we phone but sometimes a few times a week sometimes once a month depending on what is going on in our lives, but we always know we are there for one another which is the main thing. I also have a frined in the same town as I live and we see each other most days or text. Friends are fantastic, we are lucky in life if we have true friends rather than just people we know eh

It does take effort when you don't live near each other. I had a friend that was very upset that I moved but I couldn't change that. I miss seeing her everyday and we have plans to meet this year so it gives us something to look forward to.

My best friend just moved 200miles away from me, I used to pop over to her house as much as possible, only being 20miles away before. I do miss having her around, but I kind of feel that when we talk we have so much more to say. We're living very different lives now & it's so good to share stories of what we've been doing over the last couple of weeks. We've had periods of time over the 10+ years we've known eachother where we've got almost a year without seeing eachother, but when we've met up it's always as though we never parted. I think she'll be my best friend forever because we understand we have freedom to live, but the choice to share it with eachother

My best friend but seems more like my sister lives in Kentucky and I live in Illinois. We may go at the most a week without talking on the phone. She doesn't use the internet. But we are close so it isn't necessary to talk on the phone everyday. We know how each other feels and it is not necessary to talk to realize this. She has me in her heart and I have her in my heart. We are very close and love each other very much.

It would probably be hard not to talk to each other living together. Sounds like you have a great arrangement.
