Generally, the rule in the house is "no food or drinks around the computers" but you know how we are. So we do end up having some food and drinks around the computers. We have not had any real big messes.

I think cheese curls are probably the messiest thing I have ever eaten while typing. Sometimes they sound so good, and I can't seem to put myself away from the computer long enough to eat them. I sit here with a baby wipe to wipe my fingers on and get the cheese off my fingers, so that the keyboard does not end up orange.

I think my worst was ice cream.
In itself, ice cream isn't that bad, but I spilled a huge spoonfull right on the middle of the keyboard.
it took me forever to clean up.

I love Chester's Flamin' Hot Fries. They have a dark red coating and turn my fingers red. Love to eat them in the evening along with a Pepsi. This was my diet food over the summer and it's not really diet food..lol Was eating so many bags each week my husband would go buy 4-5 at a time.
Cheese curls are also very good along with a soda. It's been awhile since I've eaten a bag.

Hee hee- well I've been known to crunch on chips while at the compueter. And I spilled a cup of hot chocolate on my keyboard one time. We got a new computer recently, so I have been VERY careful not too eat anything while using it. So far my keyboard is crumb-free, YAY!

I had something just as messy as your cheese curls. Cheese popcorn. They got my fingers orange too, and it was so hard to stop eating them but it was just as hard to stop using the computer. It was my one and only time, now I just stay away from messy finger foods. I don't want or need that kind of mess again.:)

Well you have to admit having an orange-colored keyboard is different...I didn't answer this before as I just couldn't think of a messy food that I eat while rattling away at the keyboard..that is until tonight...I'm sitting here with a bag of buttery popcorn munching away...uh, need I say more? Now my keyboard is all buttery greasy....ick!

Mornin' Terry!..I haven't been around for a couple of days but here I am!
Oh, I have to say those Cheese Curls are actually the worse food to nibble on while playing on the computer.
I remember once I had a bowl of potato chips, mixed with pretzels and cheese curls. I not only had greasy salty fingers, they were orange too, haha. I kept wiping my fingers before typing constantly, what a pain in the neck!

Another 20 and I'm back in fighting trim!LOL! I gained this as stress fat, and its taken it FOREVER to move... well, 5 years, anyway! Its been too much weight on my bad leg, and I don't want to feel like a slug and be in pain any more. I'm gonna be 60, and I can't waste any more time, or I'll be like I've been or worse in my 'golden years'! BTW... why do they call it that, when my hair has gone SILVER??

I have always joked around about offering a used keyboard. The description of the keyboard was that it used to be white. The keys ended up turning a nice pink-orange color because I was in the chatroom typing a lot & eating barbecued spare ribs at the same time.
A while back, someone else started a similar discussion about those cheese thingies (cheese curls, cheese doodles, etc). They came up with the idea of using a pair of chopsticks to keep your fingers clean.

Your poor keyboard! I'm sorry I'm going to have to report you for RSPCK, (Royal Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Keyboards!) that is gross abuse, I bet your keys are all orange now, why don't you add ketchup, all the consonants can be orange and the vowels red LOL! The messiest food I have eaten is yes, you've guessed it ketchup! I love chicken burgers in baps and I must use up tonnes of ketchup in the rolls and because I use my hands I get covered with ketchup and my keyboard has to have some whether it likes it or not! What we like eh?

I would have to say that there is a toss up between oranges and peanuts in the shell. I try very hard to keep from getting the inside of my keyboard all icky. I have had this same board since 2002. I am afraid that one day I will start typing and when I depress a key, it will not come back up.
When I squint and look down between the keys, I see all these different colors. Some are dusty and some are sticky. Whenever I get crumbs down there, I turn my keyboard upside down and shake it real hard. I have also vacuumed it many times. I like to take a diaper wipe and run it over the whole board, that helps a lot, LOL.

Hello dear TerryZ. Sometimes I also eat before my computer especially when I get home from work. I just eat my lunch and dinner at my computer while reading the email notification from mylot. There was one time some drops of soup were splashed onto my kepboard and ever since I have been very careful to avoid this from happening again.

i think crumbly biscuits are the worse. apart from crumbling all over the desk , they crumble into the keyboard, unless you have one of those cool mac plastic skins for your keyboard.
after that i have to shake my keyboard to get everything out.
