you can only be sick when you eat too much rice. too much of anything is bad. ^__^
i try to eat rice meals thrice a day. its because its the main source of carbohydrates which are the source of energy. breakfast and lunch are the most important meals because they will be the source of energy for the whole day. during dinner, i eat less rice since i won't need much energy for sleeping and watching tv. ^__^;; of course, if i'm going to go somewhere or do anything that will require more energy, i will eat enough rice. ^__^

I do like rice - had a big heaping with dinner, but not three times a day. Although my husband likes to cook it up with milk and cinnanmon for breakfast. I heard that white rice is not good for you, but that's the kind I like.

Yeahp, I eat rice^^ It's the country's staple food... It's got a lot of carbohydrates that's why it boosts up energy... Hmm.. My mom said it's better to eat not really rice, but to eat enough on breakfast cuz breakfast is the first meal of the day, and we need to get energized to face the day...
About the diabetes thing, I dunno if it's true. It depends on the person. You can eat a lot of rice and don't get diabetic if you balance it with enough exercise... It could be diabetic since rice is rich in carbohydrates, and carbo is transformed to sugar/glucose and fats (I think)in our body which serve as energy boosters or our source of energy too...

I love rice but my favorite is so hard to find here. It is called Basmati ( I think). It has a great nutty flavor. I also enjoy rice for breakfast, warm with a little milk and raw sugar.
I would enjoy any help with rice recipets.

Absolutely I do, but thats before while I'm still in college. But now I have a busy life, Time is gold sometimes I forgot to eat rice. I just buy bread or something that will keep me going. I know its not healthy but thats how my lifetyle works.

Eating rice 3 time daily is too much rice. White is no good, it is striped of all the essential nutients and fibre so the body quickly converts it to sugar in the bloodsteam. Brown rice so much better for you.
For breakfast it's good to have oatmeal as it controls your blood sugar for a longer time during the day and you'll also feel fuller longer. You can add a banana or blueberries to it and yogurt.

Rice, I love to eat rice specially if the rice smells good and taste good. I mean special rice not the cheap ones. I eat rice three times a day when I'm still studying and now that I'm busy working, I eat only twice a day. But its hard to adjust specially when we are used to eat rice three times a day. Now everytime I have my day off I eat three times a day. Because I know health is wealth.

Having more sugars in your blood than your pancreas can handle is the cause of diabetes... if you eat a LOT of rice 3 times a day, and stuff yourself with other starches, your pancreas can't produce enough insulin to deal with it. But type 2 diabetes also usually comes from heredity... you can make it active by abusing your body with the wrong foods.

Rice is a staple food in my country, the Philippines. That's why I get used to eat 3 times a day. I don't know if it's just in my mind that it seems I'm not energetic for a day whenever I skip eating my meals without rice. Sometimes, although I have eaten a lot of foods rich in carbohydrates such as bread, I still feel the urge to eat rice. You say rice causes diabetes? I don't think so. If that is true, then most of the Filipinos should have been diagnosed with diabetes already. Yes, I agree that rice is also rich in sugar but there may be other sources of sugar that leads to diabetes.

I am Filipino and rice is a must in the Filipino diet. I love rice but I am starting to gain so much weight because of eating so much rice. I tried to eat it only once a day. And since we have a family history of diabetes I am taking less of rice in my diet and so far I don't feel craving for it.

Hi there.
Since I am working in Graveyard shift, I only eat rice twice a day. One in the morning for breakfast and evening for dinner before going to my work. I don't think rice is the cause to have a diabetes, instead, it is essential to our body to eat rice atleast once a day.
For other countries, they don't really eat rice, they substitute rice for mashpotato or other food but here in the Philippines, we can't eat without rice especially on lunch and dinner.

I don't think I've eaten breakfast for a very long time. The rest of the family eats breakfast though, why I don't do it, I don't know, it's just become a habit for me XD
I only have about 2 meals a day, Dinner which is 5PM for me and my Family and Late night Snack. At school, I just have my normal lunch, and thats it.
I eat rice twice a day though, not three times a day.

I actually made a bunch up tonight in my rice steam cooker and cooked up some chicken cut it up and put it in there with some frozen carrots, greenbeans, peas, and corn and 2 cans of chicken broth. I must say it came out pretty good and I'm eating some now as I type this. I don't eat rice 3 times a day mostly for dinner or if I go to a resturant and have it with a steak.

I like rice, but I don't eat rice 3 times a day after I immigrated to America. When I still in China, I eat rice 3 times a day because rice is the main food in China. If you don't eat rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner, it is weird in China. After I immigrated to America, I eat not only rice, but American style food, noodle, and bread. Rice became less for my meals.
