Well, regarding bad antiviruses, AVG is at the top of my list. It just doesn't detect most viruses/trojans/worms I've encountered. Followed by Norton & McAfee which are resource hogs. I'm currently using F-Prot Antivirus. All in all, regardless of which antivirus you use, the basic rule is to update it's virus definitions regularly and send any suspicious files to antivirus companies for further analysis.

Agree that Norton slows down...
I tried BITDEFENDER 10, from version 8 it was perfect...But 10 slowed my PC and detected viruses but couldnt delete them...so what the meaning for detecting them ? just to get you in tension and cost you night's sleep....

I totally agree I have had several and the worst one I had was Norton anti-virus. I didn't really like Mcafee to much either. I now have something called AVG anti-virus and so far it is great no problems with it and it is free whereas the others I had to pay for. They deleted files and things I needed to run my computer smoothly I started having computer problems not long after installing it. So did my sister and we found out files had been deleted instead of quantined.
