I haven't seen Ellen Page's new movie Juno yet, but trust me, I will very soon. But, I have seen her movie called Hard Candy. If you've seen it, you'll understand when I say that it's vicious, brutal and shocking. And SOME of you might understand when I say that I completely loved it! Talk about turning the tables!!!! I've watched it three times now, and each time, I find myself cheering and rooting for her character, saying "yeah, take that, you **Y&*^&UJ)^^)_+!!!" Any opinions?

Yeah, I don't want to spoil it for anyone either - I'll bet this gets a lot of people watching it. You're right - it was a brilliant spin on the subject. Um, I'm assuming your kids aren't very young, duh! You know, I really wasn't sure what kind of response I was going to get to this discussion and I'm really gratified that the first (and possible only) one is so positive and from someone who's seen and loved the movie as I did. It's about time someone made a movie like that. I'm SO sick of it always being the other way around! Did you LOVE the ending or what?!? Thunk! Ooops, bye, bye! Ha! And there she was, scot free, as she should have been.
Thank you so much for this response!

Actually my kids in the eyes of some are "too young" to watch it (theyre 12 and 14) but they love all sorts of stuff...
I thought the whole movie was just bloody brilliant...the ending was good but the "kitchen" scene (dont know how else to word it without spoiling it for ppl who've not seen it) made me just scream with delight LOL Talk about the ULTIMATE Punk on someone!! LOL could you just imagine??!

Believe me - I know exactly what you're talking about! What a scream! And, far be it from me to judge what you let your kids watch. Who, but you, is the best judge of what they are able to handle and process? It doesn't seem to have harmed them any. Besides, since they can handle it, I think it's great to show them a flip side to the usual fare being offered out there.

Yes, really, who would have expected THAT? Not me, I assure you! But I was so excited when I saw what was going to be happening. Yay!!!! And I can't wait to see Juno. I'm sure I will be seeing it in the next few days. I'll post on it and we can compare notes.

My boyfriend wasn't too crazy about it, at least he didn't act like it. But I thought it was fantastic!!! To me it shows that in either situation you need to be careful. I really did like it and I of course own the DVD :) I liked it so much. Haven't had time to sit down and watch it again though.

Hi, Kalyn! Yeah, I just bet your boyfriend wasn't too crazy about it! I don't know too many men who could even stand to watch it at all, much less be able to get into it and enjoy it like we all did. You'll watch it again, I'm so sure. I have cable and On Demand and it's shown pretty often, so I've gotten to watch it a few times, and I'll watch it again, absolutely. It does so lift my spirits!
