Playing on a torn ACL? Are you kidding me?

I just heard that Phillip Rivers played Sunday's game on a torn ACL. What? In fact he had minor surgery on his knee So he could play.I think I have a new football play I admire. To play through that type of pain when most pro football players would take themselves out if they have a sprain.Wow.
I was beginning to like him because he was getting into the faces of opponents and fans of the other teams. I like that kind of thing, especially from a Q.B. He sounds more like a defensive player every day. What do you think of Rivers playing on a ACL.

You think that's tough? John Elway played his entire career without an ACL in his left knee. It is painful to play without an ACL and it will certainly limit an athlete's mobility but as Rivers has shown, it's not impossible to play without an ACL.

that explains why, even though elway was fast as hell for a qp, he used to walk gingerly all the time. from the operation that u refer to. That is tough.

Elway was tough but he is old school. There aren't many younger players who would even try to play without a ACL.

Being an NC State fan I have always liked River. He has always been tough but last Sunday showed just how tough he was. The fact that he would get out there and play with that kind of injury shows that he has the guts to make it as a top rated quarterback. And he isn't just tough, he is smart. Even though he has been in the league 4 years now he is still learning the ropes, but when he was in college he called pretty much every play on offense. They would have several different plays for different scenarios and he would pick the play he thought best. He is a great quarterback and in 5 years I think we will be saying Manning and Brady who? :)

Rivers had a fantastic year, Next year can only be better as he matures into a great NFL quarterback. What dedication and strength he has shown to play that game on Sunday. He is to be applauded for it.
