I'm going crazy trying to find something to keep my mind busy and last night I remembered that I used to love putting jigsaw puzzles together so I checked out a couple of places online that I know carry some awesome puzzles and ordered one. Since I don't drive and don't plan on going anywhere in the near future I'm always so happy when I can do something like this online. Their shipping time is only a matter of days so I'm hoping to have my new puzzle by Thursday. In keeping with my love of anything American Indian I chose one called Sacred Bond and it's an Indian woman with silhouettes of two wolves around her and a huge bluish color moon with mountains. It looks beautiful and I can't wait to get it to get started on it!
Have you ever had an interest in jigsaw puzzles? If you have do you glue them together and keep them or what do you do with them? Do you know anyone who does have an interest in them?

I use to love doing puzzles. My mother and grandmother and I have done them since I was a little kid. When I say little I mean I started floor puzzles when i was a toddler. I never have time anymore and with my daughter in the house I am sure I would never get all the pieces to stay on the table. I never really glued them. My aunt and mom did some glued them and made clocks out of them. They took them to the flea market and sold them like crazy but gosh this was several years ago probably every bit of 15years. I hope you have fun.

Wow....making a clock out of a jigsaw puzzle is an awesome idea! If this one comes out as nice as I think it will I might try doing that. It could make a nice gift for someone. Thanks for the idea.

It did come out really pretty my mom still has one they made. It is a unicorn in a night sky with a full moon in the background. She said they were easy to do. If you have the time and creativity its an idea. Personally It will probably be many years before I even get to look at a puzzle again with the little ones.

This is another of those times where I'm lucky....I live alone and don't have any little ones to worry about fooling around with my puzzle. I'll be able to leave it anywhere in my apartment with no problem.

OMG, yes I do jigsaw puzzles. I recently did two that I bought frames for and now they are hanging on my living room walls. One is a 24 by 20 framed Wizard of Oz puzzle (hanging by my Oz plates and Judy Garland pictures). The other is a 30 by 24 called The History of Television, hanging by my Lucy plates.
I am working on a 5000 piece puzzle of The New York skyline, with the Brooklyn Bridge and the World Trade Center. This one is extremely difficult, as the colors are so similar, lots of night sky and little lights. One day, sooner than later I hope, I will finish this one, glue it and hang it up with my other New York skyline pictures.
PEACE

I did see all of those puzzles when I was choosing one online and they are awesome. I will probably end up doing the same ones eventually.

I use to do a lot of crossword puzzles. These days I don't have enough time to complete one. There are times I will do one online. Have fun building puzzles.

I have managed to put a few puzzles together in my time, but it has been awhile though..This will certainly give you something to do,and it is entertaining..I have seen that picture that you are talking about..I love indian stuff...You need to get a table to put your puzzle on so you can keep it there while you are working on it,that way you can work on it until you get tired, and then you can go back to the computer, and your puzzle will be ready for you..The last one i did i think i had something like a card table, and i worked on it when i felt like it..I kelpt it there until it was done.....

I have a large board that I plan to do the puzzle on that I can move from place to place. I'll be able to do it here in the living room when I'm watching tv or on the kitchen table whenever I want to.

I have the same problem with my little girl. She's old enough to get into everything now. But I recently found a few fellow co-workers who like doing puzzles and we are able to level our puzzles in the company breakroom.
It's so relaxing to be able to put a few pieces together each day at work. I've never glued the pieces together, but my mom likes to label the backs of puzzles so that 1000 piece puzzles are broken into like six different sections.

I have often felt I am not good enough or patient enough for puzzles. My first husband and his family did them a lot. My daughter does them a lot, and my son used to. I have some that are glued together. They look really nice at a bit of a distance. I have one I think would look well in my bathroom, matching the wallpaper border.

I don't know how you can say you are not good enough to do a puzzle....maybe you don't have the patience and I can see a lot of people having that problem.

Someone gave me the idea of making a clock out of a finished puzzle and that sounds like a great idea to me. Hanging them up is also a good idea.

I like playing it. In fact I still have some 1000 pieces of jigsaw puzzles at home. They are the world famous paintings. I think it's a good idea to have these pictures at home. However, I found I didn't have time to finish them. They are still puzzles there.

There was a time when I had quite a few unfinished puzzles around. I don't intend for that to happen again.

I used to do simple ones when I was a kid. I'd do the same ones over and over again, but I didn't keep my interest in puzzles. I find them extremely boring nowadays. xD

At this point in my life I'm hoping this will be good therapy for me. If I find it boring then it's just something that I tried and it didn't work and I'll go on to something else.

I love doing jigsaw puzzles but I don't have as much time these days to do them and plus my little boy who is almost three loves to help me with them. If I'm not careful I find puzzle pieces in some very unusual places. So when I have a bit of time up my sleeve I cheat a bit and do puzzles online it's not the same but still rather fun.

A friend of mine sits down with her kids and her dad to do jigsaw puzzles. If I remember correctly, they have over 300 different jigsaw puzzles. They all sit down, put the puzzles together and them just take them apart when they're done. It isn't just trying to keep her young kids occupied, they have a genuine interest in doing the puzzles.

I love to see kids doing jigsaw puzzles since it's great for their fine motor skills. I'm hoping I will get my granddaughter interest when she visits.

Oh wow. I last did a jigsaw puzzle a long time ago. I'm normally a patient person, but get bored easily with them. Especially when I can't find a piece, I get really annoyed. Especially when I think that after i've finished it, i have to demolish it then do go through this all over again another day! I'd never heard of people actually gluing them together. That's a really good idea.

The online store I ordered the puzzle from actually sends you a free bottle of puzzle glue when you order a puzzle. I personally have never done it but plan to with this one.

I used to love jigsaw puzzles as a child. I haven't done one in years. Did you know that research shows that doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and the like help stave off dementia? Keeping the various parts of the brain active helps guard againest loss of those parts! Enjoy your new puzzle!

Yes, ctry, we must be truly related! I have loved jigsaw puzzles all my life. I did a discussion about them several months ago, in fact. I mentioned the fact that I now have one sitting under my bed(where it has been for almost a year), just waiting for me to get that old feeling back and start on it again. Mine is a huge butterfly, very colorful with antennae. I started it last year, but did not have a large enough board to put it together. I was working on three different boards, but finally decided to take it apart when I could find a larger board. It is 1500 pieces and a real challenge. I think my kids and grandkids also inherited a love of jigsaws from me because they all do them. I used to glue them with Puzzlecoat and display them on my walls years ago. My favorites were one of a huge mandolin surrounded by fruit, and a huge golden buddha, which hung on my bedroom wall for a long time. Let me know when you start on yours and maybe it will inspire me!

I used to do jigsaw puzzles all the time. I actually love them really. I have about 5 boxes of ones I've never done in my closet. Problem is that I don't have a place to do them...and let me tell you that now that you have a cat, you probably won't have a place to do them either!
If I had a flat spot, I'd totally work on them in my free time, which is rare these days.

We used to do these more when I was a kid. When the monopoly game wasn't taking up the table, it would be a puzzle. LOL We used to tape them and hang them up too. It would be one of the very few family things we did together. Now a days we do some, but not much. We have a new 3-d R2D2 puzzle Clayton got for Christmas that is a lot of fun.

I love jigsaw puzzles. When I was little, I used to do them with my Grandpa. That instilled such a love of puzzles in me that I still do them to this day. I never glue them together, though, because I like to give the ones I've already finished to Goodwill, so someone else can enjoy. I usually get my puzzles at thrift stores, too.
