First The Snow Blower Now My Husbands Shovels, My girl-friend has a new Car a 2008 PT Cruiser, We have a Truck and a Car, What will they do next? I told my Husband we better install some Camera's here in the backyard. Radio Shack has them and I don't think they cost much. We don't have a Garage, so we had to Lock things up, Oh, remember I told everyone, someone stole the Snow Blower, well My husbands Friend gave him another one, and we found out that 2 teenagers took the Snow-Blower, a Niegbor tolds us, she said that they had came to her house and ask her did she want her Driveway and sidewalk done, she told them no, she didn't know they took it untill I came over and told her what happen. She did describe the boys, but they don't live around here. I am ready to move! We have had 3 incidents since the Summer. It is time to go! Ok, I just wanted to Vent!!!!

WOW- so not cool!! I recently moved to an area that "things" tend to happen in- I have had my car broken into- but at that point I was fed up- So I did what I could. I installed an alarm on my car, I got a 85lb pit bull in my house- (in case anyone gets the idea of robbing my home next- and I make sure everyone sees her outside.) I am not very friendly in my neighborhood because you don't know who you can trust- just be aware- I too am installing a camera- Found them at best buy for about 80.00. Good luck! Do you own or rent?

not just that but if you rent and your landlord has other rented out properties in the neighbourhood you could all talk to him and see what can be done....Maybe nothing but then again you never know...and renters insurance wouldnt be a bad idea at all..

No actually what I was going to say was if you rent- it is easier to just get up and move- I own- it isn't that simple.

I feel very bad for you. I guess we are very lucky. We have never had an incident like this happen to us. I guess it is one of the small perks of living is a very small town. One of the things that do happen around here is they do stuff like that when you make someone mad. Get mad, take or ruin something of yours, that is. I guess that is why I don't make too many people mad at me or my stuff just isn't *ruinable* or *takeable* enough. LOL

You go ahead and vent darlin, your friends will listen to you. It would be a good idea to look into getting renters ins. If the company that takes care of your car ins., offers renters ins, you should get a discount. Plus if you had cameras that would probably be another discount. Good luck, I truly hope people leave your stuff alone. Having something stolen from you is a horrible feeling.

That's just absolutely horrible!! First the snowblower, and now this. What's with people anyways? Somebody didn't raise them right! Gee, maybe you're going to have to start storing hubby's tools in the front hall closet or something. Seems like these kids are just going around scoping out what they can take next. Hope they get caught!

omg marcia..sounds like you're just not getting a break from the losers in the area....I lived in places like that and I gotta tell ya, its enough to make a person go nuts and flip out!! If the cameras arent that expensive I'd consider getting one or two....Is it just you guys that are having troubles or is there others in the area that are having troubles too?

We have been here for 3 years, first this summer someone broke in the house and took some Money, then someone took his Snowblower sunday, last night they took a couple of his shovels, I told him a minute ago ;lock everything up in the Basement, He has 2 Lawn-Mowers outside that he locks up with chain he forgot to lock up the snow-blower Sunday, we don't have a garage. His friend gave him another Snow-blower, that was nice of him, he just locked it up in the Basement just now. latley seems like they are targeting us?

I am glad that your husband got another snow blower. I hate when people steal. We have been robbed 3 times so far. We have ADT installed now. We were lucky enough to have a garage built onto our house we live in. We never leave anything out. I wish you didn't have to. I can't believe the way kids are these days. They are worse than alot of adults. You cannot trust anyone these days. I'm sorry for you.

You rwelcome marcie. We had renters insurance when we were robbed at the other place we used to live at. We have homeowners now and ADT security at our new home. It is a shame we have to lock everything up now to keep people from taking it from us.

its always good to vent it helps keep our heads clear. maybe instead of moving tho you could start a neighborhood watch system after all it wasn't someone from the neighborhood that took these things. moving won't solve it there is going to be theives where ever you go you can't avoid it the only thing you can do is change your perspective on things when people steal from me i just say to myself "they must have needed it more than me"

Oh yes, this is everywhere, it's getting bad, they are taking stuff, that you wouldn't imagine they would take, especially in the big cities! I live in a small town, and even here, you have to watch things real close!

I wondered if it really was the neighbor that did this when you posted about your snow blower being gone. Glad you found out that it wasn't your neighbor. I've had the same problem around and in my home over the last several years, but I think it was the bad choice of people that my daughters brought into my home. Do you make police reports? Not that they will probably find it, but it documents the thefts in your neighborhood, so that they may be able to track the theifs.

I really can't understand people that steal!! Taking something someone has worked hard to buy, or even if they didn't work hard to buy it.... Why would you take something that doesn't belong to you?? Do they just assume they have some kind of right that the rest of us don't? I'm sure they must feel that they are entitled to whatever they steal. That's some really warped way of thinking.... I really just can't understand it. I've been wanting to move to a particular area that's right next to the city, it's cheap, convenient for transport, and close to all amenities i'd ever need. Reason I can't move there?? It's notorious for robberies! It's really unfair!
