What medicine do you normally take when you have migraine?
What is the brand name, the ingredient and how is the effect (like how long do it start effecting)?
I only take my medicine when I really suffer, or I will just get some rest or go to sleep.
The medicine I normally take is Caffox or another brand which I always forget the name..Lol
The ingredients of both of the pills are 1mg of Ergotamine Tartrate and 100mg of Caffeine.@.@"
I always become better in an hour time after taking the pill. But then I can't fall asleep at night if I take it too late in the day.

I get migraines frequently. I take Fioricet. It was prescribed originally by my family physician and then by my OBGYN. I take it as needed 1-2 tablets every 4 hours.
It is the best medication I have taken for my migraines so far. If I run out I take 3 excedrin migraine tablets. But Fioricet is by far the best. It is a combination of Butalbital, Acetaminophen and caffeine tablets. It generally kicks in really quickly. Normally within the first 20-30 minutes I am feeling much better.

I take the Fioricet as well. I have something prior to this one that worked like a charm every single time.. Epidrin, but they stopped making it and the doctor replaced it with Fioricet. It works almost as well as the Epidrin, but it does work and that's what really matters.

I take nurofen plus but sometimes that doesnt work sometimes I have to give in and go and lie down in a dark room. I hate it when you get so ill you feel sick and dizzy and cannot move your head at all. Migraines are nasty nasty things and they run in my family my mum and brother suffer from them. Sorry to hear you do as well.

My mum had migraine when she was young too.
But she said, after give born of me, she never feel the pain anymore.
Maybe I need to get married as soon as possible and born a children too? So that the migraine will leave me?XD Just kidding anyway.

I usually take sinus medication when I get a migraine. I find I'm usually responding to changes in pressure, and the sinus meds really help. Any brand will do.

I have taken a couple of prescription migraine medicines and they didn't really work for me. Now I usually just take over the counter Excederin Migraine. The ingredients are: Acetaminophen, Aspirin and Caffeine. People with reactions to aspirin should not take this. Children should NEVER be given aspirin due to Reye's Syndrome.

i dont usually take medicine except if its doctor prescribed because i have an allergy in some medicine content.when i have headache or migraine i just drink coffee or milk and then take a nap and when i wake up its gone.do you know that medicines can ruin your liver because they have this content that is purely chemical and not natural that our liver cant contain?therefore it just stays there until our liver is poisoned,so better get an alternetive natural medicine than take in some chemical induced ones or be sorry when time comes.

it is better to keep away of medicines for such kind of pains. naturally pain killers will effect body later. if you depend on these type of medicines for awhile is not advisable. if you have the way to do meditation and relaxation techniques, helps you to get away from these medicines. i am sure that from the last 2 years i hadn't taken any medicine. i just used 4 or 5 pain killers for my pains. use more liquid food. just feel free in a way so that you can divert your unbreakable thoughts, which result in migraine.

Yes I know.
I try not to take medicine if the pain is not too serious.
I had change my medicine once because of the reason that you had mention, it was not effecting anymore.
Now I always try not to take medicine for my own good.

I have had migraines for about 15 years now, they are not nice at all. I remember being taken to the ER and getting a shot, not nice either. Some of mine are from my neck, so if i can get to the chiroprator he can fix it. Some are not from the neck. Stress plays a big part in mine. I don't like taking med's, someday i will have to but for now i will go natural if i can. I take B12 for my migraines. Liquid is the best, gets into the blood right now vs. a pill form. I remember getting one and there was a snow storm, we owned a cafe, it was noon hour and i couldnt' see where the food was on the plate, my hubby said i can't get you to the hospital with this storm, so there i was. I tryed my b12, did four doses, it was the kind you mix with water, layed my head on the counter for about 20 min and it was gone, i worked a 13 hour day that day and could not believe it. I knew that i had had a migraine that day but my body was doing pretty good. I go nowhere without my b12.

Sometimes I take a painkiller such as paracetamol, aspirin, or ibuprofen at the first sign of an attack. And if possible , I will lie down in a dark, quiet room with pillows to support my head. Then try to sleep.
I will sip water throughout the day, especially if I have been vomiting. And if I am out in bright daylight, I will wear sunglasses.
