Zelda developed in a good way?

Some say the zelda storyline is falling apart at some places, and that the gameplay was originally way better? But isn't every game like that?. Every game has to change to fit the needs of the "casual gamer" and not the hardcore Zelda fan. I personally think the Zelda gameline developed in an awesome way, with better "puzzles" and a deeper storyline. What do you think of it?. Do you also think Zelda has evolved to a better game than the first Zelda?

as more you play Zelda as easier the puzzles become since there are always the same in general, but the graphics are really nice and thats a important side aswell

I'm not even a true Zelda fan and I definitely vote that Zelda has been developed in a good way. I've watched my husband and my son play the earlier versions and the latest versions and it seems to me that the storyline and the play has gotten much stronger. Phantom Hourglass and Twilight Princess are fun to play, even for me!

I think Nintendo is going thru the bad way of developing the game... making it easier each time... they would make a difficulty setting :S The most difficult and fun game was A link to the past, and from that point it started growing easier, at the point of Twilight Princess which I finished in 3 days without getting stuck in any point... (and I didn't use a walkthrough to beat it) I think Nintendo should start making the game harder so we can actually enjoy beating it up over and over... Zelda Ocarina of Time is a game that I'll never get tired of beating, it's fun, a bit hard, and well... it's just the best N64 game out there... from the other side... Twilight Princess is boring to beat it more than once and well... I just put it on my desk... and I haven't played it for 1 year -_- A message for Nintendo: STOP MAKING ZELDA A 5 YEARS OLD GAME AND MAKE IT A REAL CHALLENGE FOR YOUR HARDCORE ZELDA FANS LIKE ME AND A LOT OF PEOPLE!

I've played five Zelda games, myself - The Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and the two Oracle games. I think that The Ocarina of Time is probably the best game ever made for the N64, and I'm not sure that any new Zelda game could beat it. The Wind Waker made for a very FUN play, and you never got bored, but the plot wasn't as in depth or interesting as it was in Ocarina of Time. With Twilight Princes everything improved once more, with great graphics, creative new weapons and a good plot. The Oracle games were made for the Gameboy Advance, so I won't even go into them as you can never expect as much on a hanheld console as you can on something like a Wii. In conclusion, I would have to say that while the games have improved greatly in most aspects, The Ocarina of Time is a legend and nothing can surpass it.

Its been getting easier. I spent several days and a few sleepless nights on Zelda 1 The same goes for Zelda III and I spent double the amount of time there (couple of months). Ocarina of Time was easier (minus the Master version). I spent a couple of weeks on that. Majora's Mask was harder (took about a month to get everything right and beat it) Windwaker was two steps back. I beat it in a rental session (first Zelda ever to do that) Twilight Princess was pretty dry too. Nintendo does seem to be making the series a bit more warped, nerfed and foreign to the older players.

Admittedly, I didn't really start playing Zelda games before I bought my DS a few weeks ago. But I still adore the storyline, and don't really think that the series is lacking. It might be in some of the sequels before Phantom Hourglass, but not in this one. I especially like the bits of humor they add in, to make the play less monotones.
