I like to watch the movie, then read the book to see what all the movie left out.

I would love to read books if time is available...as U said it takes too long..but the kind of stimulus a book provides for the imagination, a movies does not provide...

Sometimes the books have so much more detail and explain things so much better. An example is Disclosure, by Michael Crichton. I thought the book explained the technical things much better than the movie.

Books gives detail informations than
movies. But I prefer movies because they are relaxing and entertaining. Can you please respond to my discussions with the username Dennik. They are interesting. Thank you in advance.

I actually prefer books most of the time. I love to read. But I also like watch movies. However I watched the movie "Sahara" with the main character Dirk Pitt. The movie was based on the novel by Clive Cussler. The whole movie was terrible when compared to the book. The movie actually left out the most important parts of the book. So when I actually read the book i was waiting for the parts of the movie to come but it never did. Now I will always read the book first and then watch the movie :(

I like to read the book and then watch the movie. Then decide which one was better.

I actually like to read the book and see the movie. I have a movie collection of over 400 discs, most with two or three films on them, but I also live in a house where almost every wall is floor to ceiling book shelves and there are no spaces (home decorators say the best is to have a balance of 1/3 books, 1/3 space and 1/3 ornanmentaion)
Of late I have been doing more movies as focusing the small print is difficult.. but I found out why recently and will be having a cataract out to solve that so I can get back to the books again.

I prefer books, you can use your imagination, movies tend to be boring and leave things out that are in the book.

I prefer the book. When a book is made into a movie, so much information is left out due to time constraint. Often, this lack of information leads to a disjointed movie or a movie that omits alot of vital information. Recent case in point was the DaVinci Code...so much relevent information was omitted in the movie.
Also, I love to read as I can picture the people and what is happening in my mind. Sometimes, the movie just does not match up to what you imagined as you read the story. While I love movies, I'd take the book anyday!

I love both books and movies. I try to read atleast 10 pages everyday. If a book is converted into a movie loke the DA VINCI CODE, then I prefer to read the book before seeeing the movie. So that I can evaluate for myself .
