I do, ever since I was diagnosed with diabetes 3 months back. Prior to the diagnosis, I never read labels, nor was I conscious about contents of food products I buy. But these days, I always scour for food products that are low in calorie, sugar-free, cholesterol free, non-fat, etc. Even my two kids have learned to read labels whenever we shop at the groceries section. I wonder if other fellow mylotters also do this....

When I was diagnosed with diabetes at 6 thats when I learned about to read labels. Ever since then I have to look at the label before I buy something. I think its more of a habit now then anything, Because I know what to eat but its a habit I picked up. I also look for low calorie, sugar free, non fat stuff.

Hi psyche49f, I always read the label carefully before buying any products. By doing so I will get to know the content of the stuffs we want. From the label we also know whether we have got the correct thing that we need. Normally there are valuable directions in the label which could guide us to use the product probably.

Yes, I do read all product labels before buying. My husband doesn't. I wish he did. As I am on a certain diet because of health issues. Tea is something I can't have. BUt he still buys it fo rme. Go figure. NOw when I go shopping I do buy two of somethings. Like low fat or no calorie products where I buy the high calorie content one for my husband because he saya he isn't ona diet. So he refuses to eat it.

Hi psyche49f,
I always read the label of the product I am purchasing. I will see the contents, price, date of manufacturing and date of expiry.Of course I am a man from Pharmaceutical Industry I take little more care.I usually educate other people to do the same.
Good Luck.

I think I've always had a habit for reading labels. I've since given up on any fat-free, low fat or cholesterol free products...ever since for instance I heard how really bad hydrogenated oils are that are used in margarines I'd rather use butter in moderation...and it seems the more "tampered" the product is to make it taste like the original..like fat free sour cream...the more chemicals are in them-I also refuse to buy any sugar free products with aspartame in it...if you ever read the side effects one can get with that, you go back to using or consuming products with sugar again

yeah i do, i never really bothered checking out labels, and information of the products that i buy when i was younger. when i started living on my own, i learned to shop and buy things especially food more carefully. though i thought some products are reliable coz they are known, i realized that there are soon to be expiring items still on the stalls and i felt really bad buying these coz its such a waste when i can no longer eat then.

Yeah sometimes when I'm not in a hurry for shopping I do read the labels, I hate bad chemicals in food specially glutamate like vetsin, and most of the repack foods specially canned foods it has many bad chemicals to preserve the food. That's hwy I seldom bought products that's has it. But sometimes when I'm in a hurry I just bought what the product I used to buy before.

Hello, psyche! it is good to see and read the labels of the products we are purchasing.at least we should be confirmed of the genuineness of the product, its company, the date of manufacture, and the expiry date etc.unless we are satisfied we should not purchase,be it groceries, medicines, dresses and foot wears.i use to verify the name of the company, date of expiry and the cost of the product.every body should be aware of these facts. thank you.all the best.
