There is a copycat here...

I didn't realise there were rules against using the same avatar as someone else. If there was one then all the people who have the standard little green man would be in trouble. If you are really concerned about why this person is doing this - why don't you contact them direct and ask? It can't hurt! At least that way you have an answer. For all I know they may have just liked their picture. Just remember to check the name of who is replying not just the picture. That way you know exactly who you are talking to.

unless of course the avatar picture has a copyright attached to it, then it will be perfectly alright for a person to grab the picture of another person's avatar.

I saw this person, if we are talking about the same person. I told webeishere and mylot, then I noticed this person doesn't use webeishere's avatar anymore. I sometimes use avatars from free avatars websites but I never see anyone using the same avatars that are free because there are just so many options.

thats funny and interesting ,u should name the username i think after that the person will feel lil bad.may be after that he/she stops.

I saw the person using another (relatively) newer member's avatar. He said he'd quit doing that. Apparently he didn't uphold that. Don't expect him to quit, especially since he's moved up to more prominent members' avatars. It'd be disgusting if mine ended up used without any consideration.

Hi, how are you? I haven't noticed anyone copying avatars, actually I often don't even look at the person's avatar haha I really should. It would be easier to recognize people you "know". Maybe they don't realize they are copying people? Maybe he just likes the picture and can't decide what he wants for himself.

As a few members have already mentioned, there are many avatars available on the internet which can be used by anyone. It is very difficult to check if a particular avatar is in use, so it would not be uncommon to find more than one member using the same avatar. The main criterion is whether the avatar was chosen inadvertantly or was deliberately copied from another member. It would appear by the contents of this discussion that the person concerned was deliberately copying, which is a very bad practice. Whether it is against the rules of Mylot or not is not the real issue here, since it is obviously unfair practice and does nothing to promote the sociable atmosphere that we enjoy here.

I haven't noticed this person...but I think they should be reported. If you know who it is and are sure about the fact that they are copying avatars, I think you should report it to myLot.

right. i have also seen this. that day his avatar i took misled to be lilaclady. i think he is doing this very knowingly. he wants that he will be as famous here as them and people will respond much to his discussion by mistake.

lol i can't even figure out where to upload my avatar! i had one... but i was gone for 11 months and i lost everything including my earnings and posts. that sucks that someone is copying avatars without permission.

Hello aseretdd, Oh, is it really true? I never realized anything like that. I know lilaclady and webeishere, but I can't remember their avatars. I don't understand why you need to copycat other's avatar as it is some kind of identification of yourself here. People tend to do amazing things sometimes...

It doesn't matter if someone copies a n avtar but I don't like it when people copy my post and post it in other forums - does that happen to you?
