pet peeves

We all have things we don't like in this life. There are a few things that set our teeth on edge like other things do not. For me that is having to play "guess the problem" when there is a deadline of some sort lurking like a phantom pit bull at my heels.

I had such a problem with my computer, and as I have a tight budget, I couldn't just dump it on a repair tech who knew what he was doing, I had to fix it myself. Worse yet, most techs are Windows only guys and know little of Linux. Fortunately, I've a chum on the Net who is helping me. He knows a Linux system from a gold fish.

My deadline is I've a hard drive that is packed full of data that needs backing up, and this is the time that my old DVD burner decides to go belly up on me.

What's your pet peeve that's driving you crazy?

at the moment my pet peeve is people who just take take take and never even give a thank you

I think I understand what your saying...your talking about the selfish folk. The greedy with their hand out...yes.

Top one for me....Bad Customer Service.
This includes, snotty people that you get stuck with on the phone that have an attitude the size of Texas because a)They don't know the answer or b)They can't be bothered.
And then there are the polite service reps that have no clue what the answer is and they hand you the Wrong Information.
Biggest Pains in my a@@ Comcast and one particular credit card company that makes getting a real person on the phone as hard as breaking into Fort Knox.

I have a few pet peeves that come to mind quickly -
1. spitting on the road or walkways - especially if it is accompanied by a harsh bringing up a hocker sound. ewe,, grosses me out
2. I detest lies, not sure if that is a peeve or what
3. public displays of affection - beyond a hug and kiss, nice to see you again or farewell.... but when you feel like a peeping tom having witnessed it - no thank you!
4. public obscenities.

Your number one is a real winner...er...looser for me too, especially if a blind hand (mine) comes across it's outcome on a handrail...it's happened! EWW!!!
