How many times in a day do you actually cook for your family? What is the cooking request they make the most? My children ALWAYS want spaghetti. They would eat it everyday if I allowed it.

As a young man, I'm not exactly the most active cooker in the house. I do however fry an egg or French fries... Actually, I fry a lot of stuff, from eggs to meat, peppers, and a bunch of other vegetables I don't know their name in English... I also make salads and I have one or two more "complex" dishes that I cook, like a peas food or ... well... spaghetti!

Ah... come now... (blushing)... I know I must make some grammar mistake that I don't realize making. The thing is I didn't learn English in school properly. The first time when I got into an English lesson was in high school, but we didn't have the best of teachers. I basically learned English from TV. I guess I have a special affinity for foreign languages.

oneandonemakesix, I am kinda lazy, and considering I have two sisters and a mother that take up the cooking tasks, I an fine with that and don't try to make my way through the cooking hierarchy :)

Sounds like we would get along just fine. As bad as it is for you I love fried foods. Unfortunately, I am not the healthiest of eaters. And by the way your English appears to be very good.

I cook three times a day except on the weekends. I work weekends so I only cook breakfast on those days. The most requested food here is probably tacos and pasta.

Wow, I don't think I know anyone that cooks three times a day. I admire you for your efforts. Your family must be very happy. Thanks for responding.

I usually cook once a day for dinner. Breakfast and lunch are just cold items like cereal, sandwiches, salads, fruit or reheated leftovers. We love spaghetti also and veggie stir fry...they're healthy, cheap, and easy...can't beat that! ;)

You sound alot like me. Except on the weekends I usually only cook once a today also. Sometimes on the weekends I'll cook a good breakfast, eggs, bacon, pancakes, stuff like that, but I definitely have to be in the mood. Thanks for responding.

I think thats really cool. I would like to teach my children to be that independent. Not just my daughter, but also my son. I think its important that he learns to do things for himself that way when he marries a woman its out of love and not out of necessity.

As I responded to someone else, I think it is very important that children eventually learn to cook. It is my belief that they learn to be self sufficient then they marry because they want to, not because they have to. Thank you for responding.

Same here. What I cook is what my family eats also. Sometimes they aren't real happy with me though, because I rarely eat meat. Living with a grown man and my 11 year old son, needless to say, it doesn't always go over very well. I will cook them the meat they like sometimes, but often I have my boyfriend cook the steaks or pork chops that I won't touch. Thank you for your answer.

During the week, I cook 2 times a day (breakfast and dinner), but make lunches for me and my toddler, too. Sometimes, I make lunches for my older kids. One of my passions is cooking, so it is fine with me. Pizza would have to be one of the meals they request me to make the most. Sometimes they want garlic crust, sometimes wheat. Oftentimes, they want the more sophisticated pizzas, like Chicken Caesar Pizza or BLT Pizza, and Club Pizza is another favorite. We make sure we do pizza at least once a week, and the whole family (at least the kids) get in on making it.

Wow, that sounds like alot of work, but it also sounds like alot of fun and a creative way to get your family involved in making meals with you. Thank you so much for responding.
