College Students: Do You Worry About Grades or Whether you Just Pass or Fail?

I was looking through some of my undergrad things because I needed some of the material for a Grad class I am taking, and I saw some grades from my undergrad transcript. I noticed that I had a 3.53 when I graduated from college, but there was a Marine Biology class that I abrely passed in. It didn't affect my major GPA, but my academic GPA took a hit because I forgot to drop the class before the deadline and got an F in it. I wish I had just gotten the pass-fail option cause I would have stayed in the class, but it was my fifth class in a quarter system and killing me.
My question is: Do you still have a lot of concern on the actual letter grade you get, or is it merely whether or not you pass or fail a class? My mentality has always been on the letter grade, so it's tough for me, but I've learned that you just have to pass. I still like getting better grades, though.
How do you feel?

I always worry about the grades...I don't feel contentment on the idea of knowing that even if my grades are low,at least I passed the subject...The grades I get from every subject I take are all the fruits of my labor and it feels a lot better when I get high grades...High grades also gives me the assurance that I'll pass...

I like to get good grades, though I'm not the kind of person to spend hours studying. I just pay attention, and turn in all the assignments and see what I get back. If I keep getting high marks, I'll relax in that class, and if they're low I'll spend more time on it. So it averages out to atleast a B every semester. I haven't had to drop a class yet.
I've had classes that I was just happy to pass. I also like to keep a chart (in excel) with my assignment grades and their value in the class so I know where I stand, and what grade I need to get on a test to get the grade I want.

I worry more about my student loans, those things are expensive and having to pay them back is insane. I do worry about grades a little bit, but I figure that as long as I study, I have nothing to worry about.

When i was young, i care of grades.i think i want to have good marks as high as possiable.but when i go into university i don't care the gredes so much.i only think how to pass my examnation, don't to fall. Most of my classmates all think so.at the begining of semester or having long time before examnation, most of my classmate don't to listen carefully to teacher, the read the book they like as novels and other kinds book.but near the exam you will see that there are more and more people to go to library to study. The seat is hard to find.all of the student want to pass, nonly pass.

i worry sooooo much more about my gpa. nowadays employers ive heard are looking at your gpa and i done ever question myself as to whether im going to pass or fail a course because i go into the class with one goal. that is to get an A or B in the class. as long as i meet my goals then im ok and ill never fail anything. a lot of courses that are required for my major require me to obtain at least C in the class or else you'll need to take it again.

In my place we don't have grade system.
We actually get our percentile in our result card.
50% 40% or 60% or 99%
SO here marks does matters to me ..!!
But not that much, as to apply in good company for good job you just need atleast 60% from a nice college and loads confidence.
So you can call it just fail or pass thing.

I do worry about my grades, too, not only because it satisfies me that my teachers like my effort in producing my work, but also it proves to my would-be employers that I have the potential to be an asset to them. Also, homework, projcets and the like are a heck of a good practice for the 'real' world out there ;)

I think that you should have a good time in college, but that you should also keep your grades up. College really is not that hard in my opinion, so I have always found it relatively easy to have decent grades while still partying alot and having fun. Grades are defiently not the most important thing to me though.

I am still concerned about which letter/number grade I get. I'm a little bit grade-conscious - I'm used to getting good grades in high school so it doesn't feel good getting low grades. And when I get just a passing grade, I feel that I haven't given my best for the subject.

It's gonna be very simple according to me....
I don't mind about the grades...
Because college life comes only once in life...
Till Schooling We just sat on the bench till we hear the bell ring and then only move.. here only we come to know about others well.. It s better to bunk the class .. observe the real world .. lear from it.. get the concepts at last... prepare just for exam at last minute and jusy pass it/...

I am a college student at Virginia Tech. I like recieving good grades, but I try not to worry about them unless they are getting down near the low C to D range. Even then I try not to worry, because worrying doesn't get you anywhere. I just try to buckle doan and work harder. If one strives to just squeak by and pass, then they are attempting the bare minimum and things will propbably not turn out very well for them.
