I was just about to log off for the night (or maybe I should say orning since it is now after 1 am) when I realised I had forgotten to post this discussion! Well a lot of you know that after more than a year of chronic pain I finally had back surgery last year which seemed to have helped until I went on holiday 6 weeks later and had a really bad setback. Since July I have been waiting on the consultant at the private hospital I was sent to as part of the waiting list initiative to arrange an mri scan for me eith no result, I went to the pain clinic on Christmas eve however and they referred me for an mri which I had in less than 2 weeks and today I got my results! Things are still a bit up in the air as they are not sure if I will need more surgery they are getting a consultant at our local hospital to check the images to see what he thinks - whether it is worth the risk or not but the good news is they are not just going to leave me dangling. On 3rd March I am getting a Therapeutic Lumbar Epidural with a steroid in it on the 7th March I am getting an accupuncture session and that afternoon I am going to a specialist back clinic combined with pain clinic consultants (who are all anaesthetists) so they really are trying to help. Just wanted to update you as some people had been asking! I want to thank all of you who have supported me and sent their love, prayers and energies - it has really helped to keep me going - thanks for everything guys xxxxx

Heavens thank you so much - the prayers mean a lot - just as your friendship does! I am very hopeful that even if these procedures don't cure me they will alleviate the worst of the pain and make life a little more 'normal' and I will be able to do more with the kids. Hugs sweety xxx

Oh Lakota I must have done something good to deserve to have you as a friend! Thank you sweety and I think the reason they are not doing the accupuncture first is simply because they are trying to get everything done as soon as they can and these were the first appointments they had! Love and Hugs to you! xxx

It seems like such a long time to be in a lot of pain. It's great news that things are happening for you and yes, it's lovely that people are caring about you and going all out to help you. I feel positive vibes with this a feel you are going to have a positive outcome. It's only a few more weeks to go and I hope and pray that lots of good is the outcome. Hugs to you my gentle friend.

I've only been up a little while, I just couldn't lie down and be comfy...it's not a good day. I don't know wether to scream and tear my hair out or just cry. According to the x-rays there is nothing wrong with my back. The doc says something is pressing on a nerve. That's it. Like - ok, that's what it is, now deal with it. It's making me so tense, now my shoulders and neck are aching. Getting dressed is painful and difficult. I'm not a happy camper I'm afraid.

MsTickle my dearest friend I am so sorry that I haven't got back to you quicker - I didn't get notification and I didn't see your response until right now! I am so sorry that you are in such pain and I can sympathise with you! Just something pressin on a nerve - well D'uh do they realise how painful that is and how much it can affect your back, legs and general health? I would stronglyu urge you to see another doctor sweety - I know it isn't easy but it doesn't sound as though you have a very caring doctor! I am praying you will feel at least a bit better soon! Very Gentle Hugs for you xxxx

Yeah I think the fact that it hass been going on so long is the killer - it even led to me having a breakdown (and people think I am strong!) but knowing they have a plan and are now seriously trying to help makes me feel a lot better mentally if not physically! Even my GP is over the moon - he has been doing everything he can to try and help me and felt as though he were banging his head against a brick wall! I am glad that you have these good vibes sweety and appreciate the prayers! How about you - are you feeling better yet? I do hope so. Niamh and I send lots of hugs to you! xxx

I have just found a very interesting article online angel and it says that about 5% of people who have that surgery end up with a condition they call failed back surgery syndrome - it made a lot of sense - I just hope that they can relieve the pain and increase my mobility! xxxx

Hi mummymo Im so sorry your having so much pain. I hope you dont have to have more surgery. But on the other hand if its going to help it might be worth it. Pain is a terrible thing. I too am going to have surgery in april for a herniated disc in my neck cervical. I already have had 2 other discs operated on a couple of years ago. I will keep you in my prayers my friend. Have faith xxxx

Terry I didn't realise that you had had disc surgery and were due to have more - I do feel for you as I know how bad the pain can be and I wish you a very speedy recovery in April - please remind me nearer the time as I would love to keep you in my prayers espescially then as well as now as I know you must be suffering! Faith is a wonderful thing to help you through things like this isn't it terry - although I do have to admit that I lost it a bit a while back and ended up having a bit of a breakdown,l definitely don't want to go there again! I don't mind having the surgery again if I need it , it is just they are not sure that it would be worthwhile! Thank you so much for your support and espescially the prayers! xxx

Hello mummy. Its nice to see your posts once again. I know that you have been in pain. The MRI results somehow will give the medical specialist what should be done properly with your medical problems. I wish you all the best. Don't worry mummy, many friends are praying for you.
