Sick today. He woke up with a high fever. So Im taking very good care of him. Im giving him advil every four hours and I hope that will work. If not I guess he will have to go to the docs. And the doc will give him a needle right in his butt!LOL That should do it. So when was the last time you care of someone that was sick?

Would love you to be my night nurse, bet you have a great bedside manner and you have a lot of patience I can tell that, I'm right I'm sure! The last time I took care of someone who was sick was my mum, my dad isn't much use, like a chocolate teapot, so I did all the running around, did the cleaning and washing up, and with instructions was able to make the meals. Lots of cups of tea, tlc and making sure she is ok and gets some sleep to build up her immune system, I quite enjoy it actually but it always depends on the patient!

My ears pricked up I heard that but don't worry you absolutely right! We think no one else suffers as bad as us when we are ill, we need nurse maiding and we are big wimps, I am the first to agree, men are far worst patients, we are big kids really, you two would make great night nurses and I know exactly where to come when I get sick ;0) I promise too I won't be a grouchy wolf xxx

My husband, all the time.. That is because not only does he get sick easily, his back goes out on him, so I end up either trying to fix his back or wait on him hand and foot..:p

Hey, so is mine. He is now asleep after a whole night of being sick due to diarrhea. I made carrot and apple juice so he can regain energy, plus a rice porridge mixed with vegetable soup cube. We ran out of bananas so perhaps I will squeeze a grapefruit as I've read grapefruit has lots of potassium. The last time he got sick like this was 7 months ago and he experienced Transient Global Amnesia. It was quite scary. Monitor your husband's fever closely, and give him sponge bath now and then, concentrating on the neck, armpit and limbs to lower a high fever. Lukewarm or tap water will do. God bless ...

I'm always the one who cares for the sick ones in our house. If my hubby gets sick he's a big baby. lol They haven't been sick in a while though so I haven't had to take care of sick people lately. I hope your hubby feels better soon.

Terry with 3 boys, a husband and 5 grands all under 6 when am I not wiping a runny nose or taking a temp? LMAO I got sick last week, and if not for having a friend staying with me as a house guest I would not have been able to spend more then one afternoon in bed soothing myself :)) She helped out so much I was terribly grateful to her. Men are the worst however when they are sick.
I do not envy you today my Friend.

I am taking care of my diabetic husband and its working LOL His blood glucose levels have come right down to 145 mg and we have to get it under 100 so phew, the medication, change of diet and exercise is surely paying off. Just the smoking is a bit harder to kick but after seeing the Dietician on Monday, he might get some help for it.
Had his doctors visit this morning and all is well. His kidneys are fine and has been given medication for his cholesterol (which wasn't cheap to buy - pills these days are getting so expensive!!!)
Hope your hubby gets better Terryz!

My husband just got over a really bad cold and flu. he was sick for over a week, which is very unusual for him. He only took the first two days off work and then when right back. After one day back he was so sick he couldn't go the next day. So he finally gave in and stayed home till he got better. He was running a very high fever for most of the sick time. I kept making him take advil and it would help for a couple hours and then his fever was back again. But eventually he got over it and now is back to work and feeling good.

It's been a long time since my husband was sick. He doesn't catch colds very often. He's healthy.
Last year I took care of our daughter at her house. She had surgery and needed help. Couldn't drive and needed someone to stay with her. She was single last year at this time so she lived alone.

I'm not the best person to ask. When my husband is sick, I give him about a day of sympathy, after that, he's on his own. I find he is such a big suck when he's sick. When I have a cold, I still do the laundry, drive here and there, etc. etc. But when he has a little bug, he's in bed, and wanting to be waited on. You're a better wife than I am, except for the big needle part...LOL

Hope he ia feeling better now, Terry. I"m sure that you are taking the best possible care of hubby :)
The mom is always the one that has to take care of everyone so I am often involved in the care of someone in our home.. and out LOL I take care of hubby's grandmother that has Alzheimer's often. SHe is with hubby's aunt but aunt needs some rest every once in a while.
THe worse ones to take care of are hubby and my daughter even if they are not that sick. My son is the easiest, even when he is very sick he is a sweetheart and the best sick person to take care of.
Of course every once in a while when I am really sick I would love to have someone taking care of me, or at least only helping out so I can stay in bed and be miserable hehehehe but they usually forget that part.
My daughter is starting to be a bit better now, though. She is sometimes a bit selfish but there's a nice heart inside there too.
I remember once when she was maybe 4 years old I had the flu, really bad it was that time. Katt was very small but I remember her bringing me some of her cereal - no milk - some teddy bear cookies and an orange - just an orange peel and all - inside a cup of water:):):) I will never forget that:)

I am sorry to hear that you husband has a fever. Make sure he drinks a lot of water, it's better to drink it with dextrose as it's helpful for fever. Then have enough sleep to recover. If his fever is high and lasts a long time, then he has to go to see a doctor. I hope he will be fine soon.
