Have any of you ever bought anything off of TV? Was it an infomercial, QVC, HSN?I have bought silver coins before off the TV and also some trading cards a ways back that I resold on Ebay and made a pretty hefty profit. What about you? What did you buy and how did you like it?

I never did and never will. All this crop on TV is over promoted. I don't watch TV at all, so I no longer know what they sell. If I would watch TV, I wouldn't watch HSN....

If you go to the same places over and over then you are assured you will get the quality and service you have come to expect... no suprises. That is why on Ebay there are some items I just can't believe people buy. My brother bought a CAR on eBay. WHAT? AND it was all the way across the country and when he bought it the guy wanted more for it than what he won it for... but in the end all ended up well and my brother still has his custom van running nice and smooth. Well not right NOW 'cause he doesn't live in FLORIDA... he's in OREGON and has feet of snow on it right now I am sure....

My former roomie got a "gensu knife" the current roomie some Zero Odor and my client got one of those sifter sweepers or whatever... I remember ordering something - can't remember what now.

You remember if the ginsu knife was indeed the last knife you would ever have to buy?

I asked a ***** chef what makes a $20 knife and a $200 (and up, way up) knife. He said the difference is a couple things. 1. Forging. A high-end knife is forged (or banged out) from a solid piece of steel until it becomes what it is... a sharp weapon of the kitchen. 2. Weight. The weight of a good/great knife is perfectly centered to make chopping easier. 3. The handle. The handle is the right size/weight for heavy-duty chopping. I can't remember the name of the knives he personally uses but they come from Germany. They felt 5X heavier than an average kitchen knife.

It was sharp, it stayed sharp. But its lost.... The handle was plastic & cheap feeling. It was also nearly dangerous with the sharp pointS, yes points on the end.

I have been tempted a lot but I avoid TV infomercials b/c I've seen too many things not work. My mom tried an egg peeler that totally didn't work and instead destroyed the eggs! I will buy from QVC but I don't sit and watch the show, I just use the website. Even though they sell a ton of useless stuff, they also sell a lot of cool stuff that you can't always find elsewhere.

That makes sense to use their web site and then if you want to know something more about it or see it in action then you can watch when it is on TV. Good answer.

That is awesome to hear. Great to hear success stories rather than the gloomy I didn't get it for Christmas stories!

Excellent service. I don't have one complaint with them and I have ordered many things. My daughter was really shocked before Christmas. She ordered a new camera on a monday and it was delivered to her on a wednesday and was not rush delivery. She figured it would be there after the holidays. Things are sent using UPS.

I bought my mom an irish braclet off of QVC a couple years ago. My aunt is addicted to buying jewelry off of there she has so much now she does not have room for it all yet she keeps ordering more. My mom really liked the braclet.

Two things about jewelery (from a guys perspective). 1. if you buy it should expect to wear it 2. if you buy it you should actually like it Sounds like you were right on on both counts there.

I watch (and purchase) from QVC when they have the craft/scrapbooking shows. There's another one coming up on Feb. 4th. Can't wait! I like it because it comes promptly and it's good quality stuff. I've never had a problem with their merchandise.

Awesome. You even know what you are looking for is coming on. That is great. One of the things with the internet (which is changing now because of the advent of video) is you can't see how stuff works and on TV you can.

I use to shop on Home Shopping Network quite a bit. The items arrived promptly. My most recent purchase was an exercise machine, as I wanted to help my back. It was easy to set up and I can work out while watching television.

Cool. No problems with delivery that is great. Helps to know you have a reputable company behind you in case there is a problem too.

I have purchased many things on QVC. I did order a diamonique "their faux diamonds" and was disappointed. QVC customer service is really good. If the item is too big to lug back to the post office to return they will send UPS to you. Can't beat that! I have gotten a lot of other things that I have been happy with. Some of their food items are very good but they are expensive, so this is only a once in a while treat.

Did you return the diamonique or did you keep them? I have always wondered what the experience is like when you try to return something. Although I have not bought anything online I have bought things over the internet and on two different occassions had a problem with the return process.

I did return it because it did not dazzle like it does under the studio lights. QVC has one of the best and easiest return policies around. On your invoice there is a return part with a mailing label and an option on how you want your return handled (refund, credit to your account, and possibly a QVC gift card).

The only time I ever bough something from the TV was the exercise machine, I couldn't even find it online so I went ahead and bough it, I never buy anything on TV, but I knew I really wanted this machine. It really helps keep me in shape.

When I was younger and had a hard time sleeping I would watch HSN and infomercials. I think I have only bought something off of the tv once and that was Proactive. I have purchased a few things in stores that were "as seen on tv".

There are A LOT of celebrities that are endorsing this product. Diddy, Jessica Simpson, Serena Williams, Vanessa Williams, Jennifer Love Hewitt, man a lot of them... I can't even remember them all. Does this stuff really work? I am suprised that so many people (famous people) would jump on the bandwagon if it didn't work.

Remember if you have skin that is oily and therefore subject to breakouts, your skin WILL get worse before it gets better with treatment. So my guess is you didn't use it long enough. Clay and mud masks are great at pulling out the oil and dirt of the skin however it disrupts the pH in your skin so be sure to use a pH spritzer after taking the mask off and I would not recommend using it just in one place but over your whole face... but that is a personal thing.

I don't have horrible skin to begin with but I do get ocassional breakouts and uneven skin. I heard from so many people that Proactive works so well. I bought it and it made my face breakout. People (non-celebrities) swear by the stuff though so I am guessing that either I didn't use it long enough, didn't use it the right way or my skin just reacts to it differently than most. If I do get a blemish I still like to use the clay mask that I got with it. I don't put it all over my face, just on the blemish overnight. That actually works well for me.

The "As Seen on TV" places in the mall are awesome at doing that. Although you are probably going to pay a little more ('cause you aren't going to get all the great bonuses that come with the TV offer you can actually touch and feel it to see if the product is right for you or not.

I don't really buy anything off of the television. I've bought something off of the television once, and I was in middle school. I really wanted the Darrin Hansen's Dance Grooves video, so my Grandma ordered it for me, and I paid her out of my allowance for the next month to be able to keep it! My grandparents ordered the Magic Bullet blender off of a infomercial once, but that was because it was buy one get one free, so they got one for themselves and then they gave the other one to my Aunt Jenny as a gift. So far so good! That blender is actually pretty amazing. I put a bunch of Jolly Ranchers in it, and turned it on, and it turned them back into sugar powder! Great buy if you ask me!

Jolly ranchers in a magic bullet... enough to make me cringe... but it sounded like it came out just fine. So it sounds like the few purchases that you have made online you are happy with. Awesome. Thanks for the post. Zelo

I've never bought anything from on the tv. We do have a store in the mall called 'As Seen On TV', and I have purchased the same thing there that I saw on an infomercial. I got the same ink jet refiller kit there that I'd seen. I've seen a lot of scrapbooking supplies on QVC that I'd like, but I've never ordered. Like drannhh ^ I kind of like that Buxton bag too. I never thought they'd get all that stuff in there, especially the last when the gal fit in those two liters of bottled water! That's about the only thing I've ever considered getting off the tv. I have to admit, they do have some enticing things on there!

I'm a sucker and bought off the tv before. I purchased john becks free and clear system I didn't finish reading it yet but I went on the websites and they didn't even come up so that was crap. Your suppose to be able to make money from home which is something I need since I have 2 little ones the other thing was Russ Dulbey can't remember what his program was called but you were suppose to make this money by not putting up much of your own money but after you buy it they want you to buy a million other things. I use to buy off of ebay a lot I would get really good deals on dvds but I try to stay away from that now. My moms always shopping on those shows QVC and HSN. I did watch some of scrapbooking last night to see if they had anything good but I got bored and changed the channel.

Things like that should have a 30-day money back guarantee... and if I am not wrong ANYTHING you buy off TV does. There is a reason they offer it... they HAVE to. If it hasn't been that long find out and return it. If not go through it and see if you can find something that is useful for you.

I think that we have bought things off of television before....I can't really remember what it was I think that it was some kind of toy or game or something like that....I really did like it but the only problem with it was that it was really really cheaply made and the quality really really wasn't good. I think that it played for about a week and then it just stopped working and there was nothing that they could do because they couldnt replace the item because we had it for a week or over it so just watch out!

To have a good return policy is probably the best thing and I think that is what seperates QVC/HSN from infomercials where you are sending money to a PO Box.
