Its not about the money its the fact that i have been a member just as long as he has, and after three days he is 100 points away from me!
And your right earnings shouldnt be the only reason why we join mylot!

i also wonder how he has done it. i can't do it myself. i work hard and spend quite some time on mylot but i can only get a rating of about ten each time. but i do find some people in mylot who can really get high rating. i wonder how they can have so many ideas.

Well, firstly. You can always reply to discussions. That increases your rating. But, make sure they are replies that are worthwhile. Also, discussions that are more than a paragraph longer, are worth replying too. Starting your own discussions, also creates a higher rating.

That is not an unusual amount. When I first started with myLot I averaged 40 or 50 postings a day.

I said when I first started. Now I dont bother so much as this site is not the same as it used to be. To many nasty people who delight in getting discussions deleted and good people banned.

That is not a rating but a number of responses to discussion. You don't get a star until I think 100 responses and that is your rating, though I don't understand how it works.

If the number is beside the user name, it is the number of posts he made. If its in the star, it is the rating given by mylotters by giving a + on the responses he made. Don't be disturbed. Just keep on posting!

I think raiting is very personal thing so you shouldn't be disturbed by that. In order to increase your points you need to post a lot and then you'll reach your first star;) I think first time I visited mylot I posted about 35 responses in one day:P So i reached 100 posts in 3-4 days or so.

I haven't been here long either and I'm still learning. I will say that I enjoy the system here much better than other networking sites simply because the ratings do seem to stem more from actual discussion and participation rather than just views or number of friends. I think this is a better way to get to know people by participating in discussions and getting to know them by their interests. Best of luck to you chillymullet.

I figured out that i need to participate alot more, maybe more responses because i cant come up with enough ideas for discussions.

Well, the people who get the Big ratings are the people who have a lot of time to be in here and post all of the time. I know I am not one of them by no means. I have been a member here for almost 16 months, and I go thru Spurts in the amount of $$ I make, and my ratings each month. Some days and months are definately better than others.
What I have learned, is post a lot on here when you can, and make you responses long enough to make someone think, and be Happy to see you as a member here. Welcome to myLot, and hope you will continue to choose to stick around.

I've been on here for awhile and I don't even know how to find my rating! I just come here for fun...If you can tell me how to find my rating, that would be great.

You friend apparently has been very active here in his first three days! That's fine, some people have more time than others to spend here, but you'll get there. Just post whenever you can, add lots of interests to your list and add lots of friends and you'll do great. Welcome to myLot!

A little confused...What do you mean by rating of 124? Do you mean the number beside his name? If so, I thought that the number was the number of posts that you have done. Oh, I'm so confused with some of this stuff. Different people have told me so many different things. By the way, I already added you!
