I say this because finally we're expecting rain here. I live in an area where it rains a lot, but this winter is being the warmest and driest i remember. It's incredible, it seems as if we were in the south of the country and not in the north.
I sometimes think it's normal, but others i think it's due to the climate change effect. I hope it's not the latter obviously.
How is your winter going? colder? warmer? more/less rainy?

It's definitely warmer here in Toronto. February is the coldest month of the year, and yesterday it went up to +8 C and all the snow started to melt!
We've also had a ton of snow. Normal precipitation is lots of little snowfalls with one or two big ones over the winter. And it almost never snows in February because it's too cold. We had a massive dump of snow on Friday, it all melted, and now we're getting another one today.
The weather has definitely changed. I can see the difference progressing every year.

We don't have winter in my country. We only have dry and wet seasons. But i have noticed things to be extreme nowadays. When its hot, its really hot and when its cold its really cold. During winter in other parts of the world, i noticed that we experience colder climate and more rains. this year we expect it to be colder and such cause for more rains.

Our winters have been more or less the same but if we would compare them with as little as 10 years back I would say that they are warmer and there is less snow than what it used to be.
Still too cold for me, but certainly not as cold as it used to be LOL

We live in Manitoba...and although it was minus 49 with the wind chill last week it is back to around minus twenty give or take right now. That is pretty 'normal' for this part of the country in January.'
They don't call the capital of Manitoba (Winnipeg) Winter-peg without good reason.
Meteorologists know that climates are changing...but they always have and always will. The difference now is the planet is more heavily populated than ever before and that complicates things when Mother Earth does what she has been doing since the beginning of time...going through climate and geological changes. It is all very natural to her...whatever the reasons are.

sorry for my misttakes on grammer if I have. I live in Beijing ,the capital of China. It's really cold in winter.u know there are heavy snowfall and blizzard in south China.it's really a catastrophe for our southern people.many of them lost their house and estate, and some of them lose their friends even their family members. I hope the situation wouldn't go worse and southern people can rebuild their homestead as soon as possible .

i may say winter season here in our country is most commonly Rainy season. Technically, we don't have winter season here...only rainy days. But same with you, that season is cold and wet here, ofcourse! haha. But i love rainy days...i just love watching it and i can stay at home most of the time, because i have the reason...it's raining! hehe.

For the winter here, it's colder and has more rain than the normal winter we had. I am not sure if it's a weather change or something. But it's been really cold for 2 weeks continuously and usually we just got really cold for "a few days" only. I am not used to this cold and I am starting to feel uncomfortable.

It's been scary here in Boston the way the weather has been. We don't get as much snow and freezing weather as we used to. That's very unusual for this time of the year. We should be buried in snow yet we're waiting for a rain storm today. I blame it on global warming.

I cannot really compare the winter, since I am here first year, but I am gonna compare it to the europen weather and it is very different. If there is a winter in europe, it is really cold, a lot of snow and ice, but here, you just have sometimes really strong wind and storm, but no snow. I don't know what is better, but one thing is crazy here, how the weather is changing. It is just so fast, one day is warm, another is cold.

Hi ligtninstrike,
I live in the United States in what we call the Midwest. (Northern part of America in what is known as the Great Lakes Area. Next to Ontario, Canada) In winter we average around 30" to 50" of snow. Earlier this week, we had wind chills of -20 to -30 below zero. Talk about cold, "burr" Today we have had over 12 inches of snow and all of the schools were shut down. This is somewhat normal for this time of year. We didn't have any snow for Christmas and it has been warmer than normal. This week however, has been a lot colder than normal.

It certainly feels more miserable here this year! I'm in the North of England and it's been bitterly cold, rainy and windy for months now. Usually it's starting to brighten up a bit by now but today it's been hailing pretty much all day. It really puts you off having to go outside.

I live in Cuttack,Orissa,India and the winter here this time ha been really topsy turvy. The temperatures have surely fallen and the difference between the high and low temp. has also reduced leading to frosty weather. Yeah, the winter season has alo dragged on more at least a fortnight. Climatic changes are now very much perceptible.
