I don't know how many of you are into "role-playing" in other type of forums...I happen to be a member of the Lord of the Rings Fanatic Plaza where one can join a kingdom and be a Hobbit, Minon of Mordor, an Elf, and maybe it should come to no surprise to anyone here, that I'm a wizard there. One of the things they have at each "kingdom" are pubs/restaurants. They are places that one came come into an imaginary pub/restaurant setting as their character and interact with other patrons there. So thought, heck why not have something like this here?
We can come to this imaginary place interact with fellow MyLotters, talk about whatever is on your mind, while enjoying a hearty meal and a good beverage of your choice. Now I actually do have this role-playing restaurant at another forum, and I call it Le Jardin Enchanté (The Enchanted Garden) and I am of course the proprietor of this wonderful establishment.
Setting: Imagine yourself in a beautiful picturesque typically English countryside. Maybe you've been traveling awhile and you're a bit weary, not to mentioned famished and thirsty. You are driving along a small country road, when all of a sudden you see a quaint, English Tudor styled thatched-roof inn. A sign gently sways in the breeze and the words Le Jardin Enchanté indicates that you have arrived at a restaurant/pub. You realize that arriving at such a place couldn't have come at a better time and you enter inside. You are greeted by the smells of apple, cherry and blueberry pies baking in oven, of simmering soups, and fresh homemade bread.
The restaurant isn't very large, but it is nice and cozy, and has a warm feeling to it. You notice soft music is playing in the background, and recognize it to be of the Baroque genre, so fitting somehow and you feel as thought you've gone back into time.
The proprietor of the restaurant greets you...her name is Pyewacket. She's not very tall, but rather slim and has raven black waist-length hair and greets you with a smile, and says, "Bonjour, Comment allez-vous? Bienvenue a Le Jardin Enchanté. Greetings to you and welcome to my restaurant." She hands you a menu and shows you to a table.

Pyewacket is understandably a nervous wreck. She has inwardly dreamed all her life of maybe owning a quaint restaurant and pub reminiscent of an English Countryside Cottage pub.....And now the day has come....she has secured the funds to own her very own restaurant, which she has named Le Jardin Enchanté, the French for The Enchanted Garden. She has loved to cook for many a year, and is quite skilled with French Foods and has the delight of adding many of the favorite recipes she has cooked for so many years....and now she has her dream realized.
She nervously straightens the linen on the tables, for about the millioneth time, and she can smell the aromas of some of the dishes she has prepared for her guests when they arrive....Now she crosses her fingers and hopes for the best
Ladies and Gentlemen...the restaurant is now open for business...come and set a spell and enjoy yourself and talk about whatever you want and what's on your mind--you can talk about the weather, what's going on in your life, your dreams and aspirations...just nothing too heavy duty...the aim is to have fun here.

I love your restaurant, Pye. French cooking is my favorite and the menu looks delicious. I also like all the lovely plants and flowers you have used to decorate. It really is a homey place. For now, I will just have some coffee and maybe a dessert. I would dearly love for you to sit down and talk with me, but I will bet customers will keep you too busy for that! I will tell you one of my dreams, however. I have never been to NYC. I would love to visit there some time! It must be a wonderful place!

Bonsoir mon amié. Good evening, my friend...no, no...of course I can keep you company,...my other patrons here are nearly finished with their meals so there's a lull for the moment. So you've never been to NY before? I've been to Florida ..the Orlando area...so what kind of dessert would you like with your coffee? Let me get you your order and I'll sit myself down here and chat with you :)

I would like an order of chicken soup, and a piece of that nice fresh bread I smell. A slice of blueberry pie wouldn't go amiss either. Oh, and a coffee. This seems like a nice place to sit by the window, read my book, and look out at the countryside.

For your restaurant, I would have to say some Ernest Hemingway would seem appropriate. Although, I will always put my book down if some friends come over and want to sit down and talk.

Little by little Le Jardin Enchanté is filling up with more customers...she next spots bonbon coming into the restaurant and shows her friend over to a table near the window. "I'm so glad you decided to stop by," she says, "yes, a nice hearty bowl chicken soup would be just the thing for such a chilly day, wouldn't you agree? What book are you reading?"

"Ah, Hemingway...I take it you love to read the classics....so do I. I didn't read many when I was younger, but have been catching up over the years. Well, let me get your order now...I just took out the blueberry pie out of the oven not long ago, so all my pies are freshly made...Let me get you your soup first though and a basket full of my nice homemade bread slices." Pyewacket excuses herself to get bonbon's order.

Good Afternoon, pyewacket,
I'm finally back, and feeling famished! No need to show me the menu, as I looked at it the last time I was here. I think I'll start with an ice tea, and go ahead and order the caeser salad, and chicken and mushroom crepes. I've always loved crepes. I'm so glad to see that you've just put a fire on, as I'm chilled to the bone. Is it okay if I join Goodie? I hope she won't mind. I can't really see her though, so am assuming she's still here somewhere sleeping. Please let her know I'd like her to join me, when she wakes up. Thanks.

A youth, looking maybe 14 comes in quietly, looks around and slinks quietly to a table near the back of the room, not too far from the kitchen door, where he can see the entrance.
His hair is nearly white and kind of standing on end more like cat fur than hair and seems to hold its own static charge. His face is oval, he's more pretty than handsome, but looks a bit afraid.

{Pyewacket looks at the coins this strange customer of hers...she's never seen silver coins like these before...her active imagination could swear they look like the coins described in Harry Potter, the Galleons or Knuts...then she looks at the customer again, and notices he, while young has quite a magical air about him..she inwardly groans and thinks to herself...Pyewacket you're reading to many fantasy books!}
"mmm...you've been traveling...uh, may I ask where? I'm always interested in hearing stories about people's travels..uh, in the meantime would you like to have some Perrier water and fresh bread and biscuits...it's on the house you know."

{Pyewacket notices a new customer enter her restaurant. She looks at the youth and quite frankly has never seem the likes of him before as he is almost feline in nature...."Odd," she thinks to herself, "and odd how he just came sauntering in an sat himself down. Doesn't look like a trouble maker though. Actually looks kind of timid. She goes over to him....}
"Why hello there, and how can I best serve you this fine night...are you hungry? We have a fine menu here of food," She says as she hands him a menu. "I'll let you look at that for awhile as you decide."

Nice place you have here, pyewacket. I have a bit of a sweet tooth tonight. I think I will have the Vanilla Ice Cream with that lovely sounding ginger glaze and almonds. Please bring a nice soothing cup of hot tea to go along with it.
I am here alone this evening, feeling a bit introspective. I hope you don't mind if I sit back and just enjoy the ambiance for a while.

Pyewacket laughs a bit..."Oh, no problem...I often get an attack of the sweet tooth myself...yes, the vanilla ice cream is great with my special ginger sauce and almonds. And stay as long as you wish and just relax...this is the place to be reflective if one wishes. Let me get your order now"

Please keep the tea flowing. I am enjoying it here very much. Very nice staff, lovely food and interesting people. I wonder what the story is with the lady in the Viking hat.... If I wasn't feeling so introspective tonight I would have to go over and strike up a conversation.

Lord of the Rings Plaza? Roleplaying? Lol! That's so lame
*Goes back to playing Warcraft* (Irony? =D)
Okay I hear you loud and clear Pye.
For now I'll take a [French Onion Soup Gratinée]
Now is that "uncommon", "rare" or "epic"? Dare I say "legendary"?
