I am always looking for ways to save money. One of the best ways I have found is finding other uses for products you already have on hand. I have started doing this with a TON of things. And, so far so good.
I almost always keep a large stash of Alka Seltzer on hand. Its great for so many things.
I Love using this to clean the toilet. Sounds crazy right? Well try it. The Citric Acid comboined with the fizzing makes it a very effectibve toilet bowel cleaner. Just drop a couple of tablets into the bowl. Let is sit for 20-25 minutes. Then just wipe the toilet bowl with the brush a few times. And it will be looking good as new :)
Its also amazing to use to clean your jewelry. If you put it in a small cup and then put in your jewelry it will come out sparkling and shining when you pull it out.
I also have issues with clogging my drain with my hair (shower).... Soo this works... Put the tablets down the drain and pour in a cup of vinegar. Wait a few minutes and run the hot water for ten minutes. It also helps with the odors.

Wow. i have never thought about using alka seltzer for these uses. Does it take hard water stains out of a toilet bowl? Does it unclog, clogged drains? I use jewelry cleaner for my jewelry, but I am very interested in how well it cleans out drains and toilets. I need a good cleaner for those.

Wow, I don't have any Alka Seltzer in the house but am putting it on my shopping list. I'm the great multi-tasker and love finding things that work the same - if it can serve more than one purpose it's great in my life.
Thanks for these great tips :)

thanks for the tip! i guess it's the baking soda in alka seltzer that does it. but how nice to have it in such a handy little table form. i'll definitely be keeping some around the house from now on.

Thanks for the helpful tips with alka seltzer. I love it when you can use a product for other things than the intended use that it was made for. Not that I always remember them!
