Do you ask...

Do you stop and ask for directions when you don't know exactly where you are going? My bf will stop and ask everytime, or he will try to get someone's attention that we have pulled up beside of at a stoplight. I myself, very rarely ask. I have to really be lost. Usually, it seems like I can figure it out in as much time as it would take to stop and ask. Then you don't even know if that person really knows for sure. What about you? Do you ask for directions? If not, is it because you have a good sense of direction? or because you are stubborn? How about your better half or s.o.? Are they the same way?
Then again, most people probably have a GPS in today's world and don't need to stop and ask. What about you?

LOL - Funny thing my friend the way you ended this post.
I myself may have to do a practice run if I were to have a job interview. Probably the day before. If I were going from a current job (lunch interview) I would do it on my way home from work.
If I have to use the facilities, I will stop at a fast food place and get a shake or something and do that while I am there.

I think it is better to ask some times which we dont know as hundred percent. and some times it enables u not to waste ur time. and some time u learn good things by not asking any direction from anuy one.

Ok I am the first to admit I am so damn stubborn I'd rather get lost than to stop to ask someone for directions. I do try hard to figure out where I am on the map, 90% of the time I find the right place, but those times when I am going somewhere new, I usually get lost. I am always wary of stopping beside someone being a bloke so I try to look for a bloke, otherwise some women get a bit worried when you suddenly stop by them and they are on their own. But some blokes look a bit suspicious and you never know in this day and age do you, if you are driving on your own. Guess security comes hand in hand with the stubbornness on this topic

We don't have a GPS in either of our cars. My husband doesn't like to stop and ask for directions but he will if I insist. If we aren't in a hurry to get somewhere, or we aren't looking for someplace specific, we'll try to find the place ourselves. If we have an appointment or something then yes, we will stop. Generally, if we don't know for sure where we are going, we'll go to Yahoo Maps before we leave and print out a map before we go.
If we do ask for directions, though, I generally make my husband stop at a gas station or someplace like that. I won't ask someone at a stoplight. Often they are just as lost as we are. If I go inside a restaurant or gas station they usually can help me, or at least get me in the right direction.
My husband sometimes calls 411 and gets the number for the place we're going and calls the place we're going and gets directions from them. This is also helpful if we're running late because we can let them know that we are coming, but that we got a little lost.

I do not hesitate to ask for directions when I do not know exactly the place I am going to. It certainly beats going round and round searching fruitlessly. I find the GPS is not much of a help at times when I really needed it. I called the place and ask for landmark or directions. It is more productive and efficient. lol.

If you have a contact that you can call or if you are looking for a particular busines, a lot of times this is the best effort. I think a lot of businesses even have a written script for the secretary as to how to get there from each direction. Thanks for your response and have a good day posting !

If we get lost while on a trip somewhere my husband won't ask for directions, he seems to enjoy being lost because he finds it to be an adventure. I ask for directions if I have too, but most of the time he's the driver, so I have to go along with the adventure. Of course sometimes getting lost can be fun.

I always ask if I'm lost. You meet some very nice people that way, too!
I usually use mapquest but it's given me squirrely directions a couple times so I usually end up asking someone.
I'd use a GPS if it were free, but they're too expensive!
