Hi shymurl,
This smacks of just one more marketing gimmick to try to get people to pay for stuff they don't need.
I reminds me of the never-ending smoke-and-mirrors marketing campaigns for dairy products. It's supposedly the "perfect food", yet they keep modifying it and adding stuff to it to try to convince peple that we really "need" it. Funny how osteoporosis is highest in dairy-consuming countries, and doesn't hardly exist at all in nations that don't drink cows' milk (hmmmmm???).
You're exactly right - stick to plain water, it never hurt the dinosaurs, it doesn't hurt the fish, and it's still just fine for you and me.

Like some of the responders so far, I too think it's a marketing gimmick and potentially a dangerous one. Many vitamins are meant to be taken in small, controlled doses. If one gets in the habit of drinking vitamin enhanced water, there is the possibility of vitamin toxicity/overdose. The children's water with floride concerns me too. Many cities already supplement the water with floride, and of course most toothpaste has floride, and floride too can cause problems when taken in large doses. I think plain water, a healthy diet & occasional supplements IF NEEDED is the right approach to take to maintain health.

Alot of people just don't like the taste of plain water, I happen to like water. I haven't tried this water yet because to me it is a waste of money, If a person is already taking a multivitamin then they don't have need of this water probably as one of the posters have stated they may be a chance of a overdose especially if a person drinks a few of these waters a day plus take vitamins and plus the vitamins we consume in food. Not good, so if people are willing to believe all the hype about this water they might find out it isn't worth the extra cost they paid for it later on. I enjoy flavored water as a low calorie replacement for sodas and juices but other then that I will stick to my regular bottled water.

Well, I know these have become a Big thing, and not sure why they are so Big either. One thing I have noticed like someone else here already mentioned, they are loaded with Sugars, and quite a bit more expensive that the regular waters out there. It always amazes me, what will they think of next. I know I have tried some of these, and they are Good but the Sugar content in them is bad for me since I am Diabetic as well.

I think that I have heard the reason that they are making vitamin water and its because alot of people in the world like water but they forget or either they just dont take their vitamins and the water isn't suppose to taste much different than regular water and it gives you the vitamins that you need to have to keep your body healthy...I think that it is sorta a good idea because i mean if you like water anyways that wont be much different...and I mean i dont take vitamins so if i can drink water and keep my body healthy its good for me!

in my opinion it's all just a marketing gimmick. they cost more than regular water, and often times have either a lot of sugar or artificial sweetener - neither of which is especially healthy. it seems like a quick and easy way to be healthy, but obviously yes it would be better for you if you just drank plain water then incorporated better foods into your diet to get those vitamins and take supplements if necessary.

Sales!! All of the drinks may have vitamins but they also have a lot of sugar. I would rather stay away from them.

I guess as a money grab! I have seen so many articles lately about how bad bottled water is for you. Bottled water bottling plants are tested once a year, your city water system is tested up to 4 times an hour, and a log has to be kept.
There was a Swedish report on the leaching of the chemicals from the plastic in your bottled water! It is directly linked to reduced sperm count in men!It is amazing the amount of leaching there is from products we contain our foods in!
Aluminium foil is another, with a direct link to Alzheimer's.

I like taking multivitamin pills. I don't like vitamin water; I don't like the color or the taste. x0

its a sham. drinking water with vitamins is not going to help. vitamins alone arent going to help, my father is a docter. They aren't going to cause any damage but they won't help.
