At last I am off to my beloved retreat by the sea tomorrow! I can't believe it's come round so quickly! I always go in February because after Christmas and this time of the year I get the Winter blues and we all need something to look forward to.
We normally go for a long weekend in February from Friday to Monday, but my two lovely friends have paid for an extra night for me! I am going with a lovely couple one is 77 and his partner is 40, so as I tell everyone age DOESN'T MATTER!
I will be gone till Monday so try not to miss me too much LOL! It will be bliss, I got my tickets today and I'm all packed and ready to go...
I go to my retreat about four times a year
February, April, August and November!
I come back a very very happy and contented wolf
So is there a special place you like to go to to get away from everyone or the world? And how often do you go?

Thanks for the message before you left my darling little brother - I couldn't get online and I would have been so sad to have missed you! Remember what I told you - I hope you listened good!!!
I used to have somewhere I liked to go but 2 children later it is not so easy! Maybe when they are grown I will find a retreat all of my own but for now I will just have to use my imagination! xxxx

This may sound strange to some people but I go home and by home I mean the farm.....
My Dad owns it now but it was originally owned by my Dad's Grandfather and then my Grandpa and now my Dad it is over 100 years in our family name and I was married there five years ago in a lovely outdoor ceremony...that is where I go and I wish I could retreat to there more often!!!

Enjoy a great weekend in your special place Wolfie. A break in the winter to make yourself a bit happier is a wonderful idea. It is superb that your kind friends have paid for an extra night for you. I also have the winter blues and would like to go away somewhere. I love to be beside the ocean, go on a scenic cliff top walk and walk along a historic pier. I have a few places near me that are special to me. These are Clevedon for the old pier and coastal walks and Glastonbury for the gem stone shops, book stores and magical quality of the tor, well and garden. Before I moved it was the beautiful White Cliffs of Dover and Folkestone with its coastal garden. I love to travel to all different places. I go away about 4 times a year. Have a wonderful time at your retreat.

I am fortunate enough to have the sea a few minutes walk from my doorstep which whenever I feel life is taking its toll I walk down to and discharge any negative feelings out to be swept away with the waves, but I have a little private cove a few miles away that I go to and sit on a big rock and totally relax which I call my special place but I am not too far from the moors either so sometimes I go to the top of a tor and let the wind whoosh away anything that is troubling me. You have a wonderful weekend and we will all look forward to your posts upon your return Ellie :)

I live in Sydney, Australia.
In New South Wales the State I liv in , there is a
place called TAREE.
This place is famous for natural HOT BATHS.
We like to go to this place regularly , twice a year
March and October.
It is a long way, it takes 12 hours by train.
We have been there about ten times.
We always stay at the same MOTEL.
They know us well by now.
The complex we go to has two HOT pools
one 39 degrees (C) the other 41.
There is also an olympic swimming pool wich is
slightly warm 25.
I call it a Health Farm holiday.
We eat regular good food.
When I go back home, I usually find I am at least
six months younger.
This way I am not aging at all.
I am now 77.

Wow, Wolfie, that sounds great and I am envious.
About the only place I can go to get away from the world on a regular basis is the bathroom, which is not as nice as the sea.

No I have it inside..I just put myself in that place with my meditation and self actualization and my subliminal cds..I just keep my head where it needs to be and any place is a good place...
Maybe it would be nice to go to the Ocean but I'm contented as I am ..
Have a wonderful time Doll

What a lucky wolf you are! I would really like to be able to get away for a few days now and then, but my budget won't allow for it. I do, however, have solitude as much as I like since I rarely have visitors. So, I suppose my little apartment is my retreat if I want to look at it that way. I live alone, and I find it very appealing -most of the time. Anyhow, I hope you enjoy your retreat and return revitalized!

Wow, I'm happy that you have a special place to stay. I've always wanted to go someplace else to act as my retreat place but I haven't got any time. Besides, it is hard to find a good hangout here in my country. The best places are usually taken and out-of-town so if I'd still want to pursue then I'd end up sitting on the highway pavement instead. Lol. Anyways, good luck with your retreat. Attach a photo the next time you come back so we'll see where you went okay? God Bless the trip! Bon Voyage!

St Ives Bay and Godrevey in Cornwall is my most favourite place. So, much so that I long to be there and even imagine it in my mind's eye - I find it brings peace and quiet just thinking about it. I miss it when I can't go, and sadly don't go there often enough. Win the lottery and have a property down there that I can escape to - that would just be a dream come true!

Wow, you are very fortunate to have this opportunity ; ) I hope you enjoyed your stay and do come home feeling refreshed in every sense.
I love to go to the Beach, but usually only get to go once a year in the spring. This year I will probably miss it ( a year I need it most..ugggg) due to the fact that I am seperated and apparently headed for divorce. I am soooo BROKE! In more ways than one.
It is great to celebrate aothers good fortune though...Best Wishes~C

Take me with you, lol! I need a place to go to to get away from it all. I wish I had a special place to go to but I don't. Sometimes I seriously wish I could run away from all of my responsibilities just for a little while. I have a husband, 5 dogs and 7 cats to take care of. No kids and honestly right now, I don't think I could handle them with everything I deal with on a daily basis. I do love them all though but sometimes I wish I had somewhere I could get away to. Have a great time and talk to you when you come back. I'll bet you'll be all relaxed and ready to start and respond to discussions when you return! :)

I get the winter blues too, Wolfie, among other things. I'm very happy for you, that you're able to get away like this. Everyone needs a break. For me, I (with my daughter) go to visit my sister and her family, several times a year. My sister and I are very close, and we always have a nice time together, just relaxing etc. The weekend after next, we're going there (just for the weekend), and I'm really looking forward to this. I need it! Take care.

Well, church is the best place for me to go. I found solace and inner peace when I am inside it. That is why i frequented it. To remain sane in this world that is full of insanity.

I'm at work at the moment (this computer makes so many typing mistakes too grrrr) so I'll reply later but I didn't want to miss out on wishing you a lovely week-end.
Have fun Wolfie! Take care!
