You might also enjoy reading books by Sue Grafton, who writes mysteries.
You might also like to try reading books by Carol Higgins Clark who is Mary Higgins Clark's daughter.

I love Diana Gabaldon. She writes the Outlander series. It is an amazing series that is a little science fiction, a little romance, and a little everything else. The series is excellent. The first book is called Outlander in the United States. I think it is called A Stitch in Time in Great Britian but I am not sure. I know that you can find the books in Germany. They are actually a pretty big hit there.

I like Robin Cook and Patricia Cornwell. Sephen King is scary but writes very well. Also Dan Brown who wrote The Davinci Code. John Nance writes thrillers involving airplanes. Those are some good suspense types. For humor I always liked Erma Bombeck. Mitch Albom has several good books which were made into tv movies. Good luck.
