What was the worst job you have ever had?

I was standing in front of about 500 muffin tins and had a large garbage can full off bran muffin batter. In one hand was an ice cream scoop and in the other hand was what I had left of my dignity. By the time I was finished filling muffin trays I had muffin batter up to my arm pits. One night I stood for 8 hours straight running bread through a bread slicer and bagging it. I still feel bad for bakers when I sink my teeth into a bran muffin from the bakery. I no longer work at a bakery. I hated it. I have had other bad jobs too but this one was little pay for yucky work. At least as a cab driver I was making good coin and having a lot of fun for the most part. But scooping muffin mix from a garbage bucket for hours on end is not fun at all. What job have you had that you hated the most?

The worst job I ever had was working in a food place where we made packaged foods. I always ended up on the line making stuffed potatoe skins. I had to cut potatoes in half, then put them on this machine that spun fast to gut out all the potatoe. Then put the filling with a scoop much like what you described. Put it on the line and move on to the next potatoe. The metal potatoe scoop spun so fast that by the time I got to go home at the end of my 12 hour shift my hands were so sliced and diced that I couldn't put them in water, the stinging just about killed me. I did that job almost a year before I said enough is enough and quit

Nope, no potatoe skins here. I still have scars on some of my fingers from the job. I talk to a girl that works there still, she's been doing the same job for almost 10 years. I'm surprised she has any fingers left at all

The worst job that I ever had was at a veneer factory. I worked on the dryer line and as the veneer came out of the dryer my partner and I had to stack it in a neat stack in order for it to be cut. Well, the partner I had was not nice and she would yank her end and cause me to get splinters all the time. After a couple of days, my hands were so sore and you had to get splinters out every day when you came home. It was lousy!!!

My mom used to work at a veneer factory. I remember how she hated it and dreaded going to work everyday. She would wake up in bad moods and come home in them. I believe she operated the machines that pieced the different pieces of veneer together. And yeah, she would come home with some of the biggest splinters in her fingers and underneath her fingernails.

I once worked for a place that manufactured traditional Italian sausages. My job was to take the racks of sausages out of the drying room and scrub the mold off with a wire brush and a power hose.
My fingers wrinkled up from the water. My clothes smelled like mold. My hair smelled like mold. After a week my skin smelled my mold.
I ended up being fired from the job after a short period of time. I can't say I was terribly sorry.

When I was 16 I started a job as a dishwasher in a Pizza place. It started off good until I realized that I had no help at all and the kitchen was over 100 degrees. There was no air conditioning and no help but yet they always rushed me. There was no dishwasher so everything was done by hand. You rinsed and scrubbed with hot water, then bleached them, then you rinsed again. I did this my first day for 16 hours straight with no break. This is not the worst of it, I watched the owner which cooked the food and made the dough go to the bathroom and never wash his hands. Needless to say that I only worked there one day and I quit. I did feel stupid though once he told me to come and get what pay I had earned because he paid under the table. For the 16 hours that I works I made almost 300 dollars. Either way, the job sucked.

my worst job was working at a place that made dog food, they would bring us pallets of what looked like huge bread loaf pans which were filled with some kind of meat by-product and who knows what else. my job was to take the pans and slam them upside down on a table to get the contents out, and this stuff would splat all over you. you know what a fresh can of dog food smells like when you open it? well this was about 10 times stronger.
i lived with my grandma, and she wouldn't let me in the house until i removed my clothes outside.

My worst job was working at Spencer's Gifts. People were always coming in and trying to steal and my GM was not a very nice person. She had her favorites. She didn't even like the fact that me and a couple of my co-workers hung out after work. She had the Assistant managers fire the regular workers instead of doing it herself. It was a crappy mall job and I don't recommend anyone working for them.

I used to work on a factory, as a stock clerk. The workplace is very dangerous, since we need to climb up 50 ft. high by using forklifts as elevators on top of pallets just to gather the exact amount of stocks we needed. It's not just the worst job I've been into, but hazardous as well. The other thing that bothers me is, we were under an employment agency and I believe it's either 15 or 25 percent of our total income goes to them. Since the pay is not enough and the work is not that easy, I decided to resign and look for other job where I know I can be more qualified of doing..

I work in a retail bakery, but I think it's a bit different than you describe, since our products come frozen and all we have to do is bake it. I actually like my job, although I could do without some of my co-workers, lol.
The worse job I had was telemarketing, I quit in the middle of my second day, it was horrible, I hated cold calling people to try and sell them a product which in my opinion was not worth it, people were quite nasty which I can't say I blame them, I hate getting calls like that.

The worst job I ever had was with a boss that was the meanest, lowdown, nastiest, backstabbing, give you the wrong information on purpose, yell at you in front of everyone , et. etc. etc. Hahah, get the point? I've always been treated fairly well, but this experience did me in completely. I honestly couldn't understand how a person could be this way. I ended up in tears and walked out. In retrospect, I might as well have been a little more confrontational and quit trying to handle stuffby being profesional and nice about it. There are limits and you should stand up for yourself before it gets too bad...Whit

ok, ok your job is nasty (lots of laughs), but lets see if this can match. you know those orange things that tells you how fast your going in your car? they call it a seed odometer well guess who had to paint them? you got it me I did that for two years I painted the thing that lets you know how much gas you have the oil, everything that is orange in your car. O I did move up to ashtrays. But I worked on second shift and it was kinda fun there was only 10 of us working after this I joined the Army so you can tell how much fun i was having I really never hated any job I worked at really

Do you still see orange in your dreams? You have me trumped I don't think I could do that for two years! I worked a lot of night shifts and I have to admit I kinda liked the night shift and the people I worked with. But I have never had a job so bad that made me join the army! I admire those that do however and am glad there is men and women around that are willing to risk life and limb for the country.

The worst job I had was at a doggy care place. It was the type of place that would watch your pets during the day or board them at night. We had all kinds of big dogs and mean cats and featherless birds and everything. The place just switched ownership when I joined and the new owner was making all kinds of nonsense rules (like we weren't even allowed to raise our voices at the dogs when they got into fights with each other). When they made messes we had to clean them up and there was slober EVERYWHERE. I lasted a week before I was done with that one.

I think the worst job I did was probably fruit picking when I was a student (strawberries, blackcurrents and gooseberries). It was truly backbreaking and thankless, I earned about £6 a day. Worst job I have ever heard of is collecing orang-atan pee in the jungle.

We have daffodil picking season here and when you are a teen it is just the thing you do to make some spare cash. I lasted one day, it was horrible. I had forgotten about that job and how horrible it was, but I think maybe a bit better that collecting pee!

Wow compared to the previous 2 responses I had it good!
My worst jobs were both phone related. 1 was a temp job where I had to go through these seminar listings, call each company listed and ask for the name of their Marketing Manager. Plop the name into a database and call the next one. I was bored out of my skull! Thankfully they let me smoke in that office (this was back when I used to smoke) otherwise I'd never have stayed awake.
The other was telemarketing for the local newspaper. I lasted 1 week. I hated cold calling people's residences and I hated having to follow a script. Ugh! -Tink

Brr on this moment I have worst job ever. The employment agency sended me to a meat factory. I have to put sausages in a kind of sauce and then lay them down on a grating. On the end of the day my whole arms were full of sauce and they smell like i was a sausage myselve. I prefer something else!
