The first pets I remember are two cats, a white Siamese and a brown Burmese and then my mum's tortoise . They were lovely affectionate cats and I remember them with very much fondness. I liked to watch Percy that my mum had pot when she was younger eating. He looked so sweet. I got a dear little whit rabbit with pink eyes when I was four years old. She had the whole of the garden to play in. When I was a teenager I had two gerbils and gray one and a brown one. Then I got some black gerbils. I got a sandy and white rabbit and my sister got a black lop rabbit. They were not both female, one was a male and they breed. They had seven bunnies and we found a home for two of them. I think back with fondness to the memory of my sister getting two white ducks and my mum getting a hen. They made superb pets. I had stick insects in my teenage years as well.

hmm, lets see, nothing to strange... dogs, cats, mice (lots of them, we used to raise them for pet stores), fish, iguanas, a variety of small lizards, and a hamster. :O) Though currently, my five kids have 3 dogs and about 12 fish...

Ok we have had rabbits, chickens, dogs, cats, turtles, hamsters and my daughter's roommate who we let live with us a few months, had 2 snakes, a tarantula and a hamster too. Hamster total for us was 7 mom and babies. All these animals are from when my sister was little to when my daughter got her hamsters in 2004.

We have had fish, a guinea pig, two hamsters, and a snapping turtle. Before the girls we had two cats, but I'm allergic so there will not be any long haired animals in our house anytime soon.

Kim, how big was your snapping turtle... I know there is one that lives down at the pond across the 5 acres in front of us... and it has been around for years... it has a whole drilled in the back of its shell.. where someone use to have him tied up... we see him every couple of years...

When we found him we honestly believe he had just hatched because he could hardly walk. We kept him for about 4 months before we found someone who worked for a vet, who actually raised snapping turtles. If I can find a picture I will try and send it to you. BTW, we named him Snappy. Kristina took him into Pre-k for show and tell.

My mom studied wildlife biology in college and my dad and his brothers owned a farm. Because of those two factors we've had a lot of pets. So, as best I remember.. 5 home dogs, 3 farm dogs (that I remember) 5 house cats 1 farm cat (plus a more or less feral group) 5 baby chicks (moved to farm when they got older and turned into mean roosters) 1 pony 1 horse 2 cows a small herd of Mammoth donkeys 1 domestic rabbit 5 wild baby bunnies we raised 1 opossum several fish 2 hamsters a ring neck snake 3 box turtles a red salamander 6 guinea pigs and of course my mom's Madagascar hissing cockroaches for her science class. and my brother's sea monkeys if you want to count them.

Let's see, in my family we've mostly had cats and dogs out here. There have been rabbits and chickens, but they weren't always raised for pets if you catch my drift. ~_^ We've had a variety of fish, I've caught baby lizards and raised them, birds too, ooh, and I had a tarantula for a bit too. Mostly cats and dogs though. I really want a ferret though. :(
