How Did You Spend Quality Time With Your Family This Weekend?

Weekends are for rest and recreation and catching up on all the things that didn't get done during the week. What did you do this weekend with your family that was quality time spent together? Friday night my husband and I went to the LSU Gymnastics meet. We went to dinner first and then the meet and then a late night breakfast because he was hungry again...lol. Then Sunday my twin daughters came over to visit. We did a few things around the house and then one had to leave. I went shopping for about an hour and half with the other daughter and we did a couple of mystery shops that were assigned to me. She loved it, of course and talked me into buying her a couple new pairs of pants. Oh well, there goes my payment. lol Overall, I had a good weekend. I just wish it was longer!!

I live alone so the weekends also are spent most of the time alone. Sometimes my daughter does come to visit me with my grandson. During those rare visits I leave all my work aside and do just what they want me to do.

I don't blame you! I have a four year old grandson and when he comes to visit it is all about him! Gotta love those grandkids!

I didn't get to spend any time with our daughters. One was working, one out of the couhtry on her honeymoon and the other daughter lives out of state. I worked all weekend but did manage to eat dinner out with my husband before work Friday night, after work Saturday night and at home last night after I worked. My husband works 6 days a week right now and I work weekends so dinner is our main time spent together. It was nice.

Glad you got a dinner out! That is so relaxing when you are working all day to not have to come home and cook and clean up afterwards!

Hi Kareng. I was working on Saturday and we didn't get a lot of time to do very much this weekend. But on Sunday myself and my husband went grocery shopping, then went came home, put on the dinner and went for a walk. When we came back, dinner was cooked and we all sat down to a family meal. A small enough thing I suppose but I love when we're all able to sit down together. It happens so rarely these days as we're all rushing around the place between school and work. It's great to be able to sit to the table and discuss the week gone by and have a laugh and relax.

Family dinners are great aren't they? I know what you mean. It's hard to get my gang together these days.

I spent a lot of time with my wife this past weekend, as she has been a little under the weather. We normally do a lot together on the weekends, which usually includes taking in a film and going out to dinner together.

I usually spend my weekends to rest alone but this last weekend i got to spend that time with my family. It's cool since we haven't had much family time in a while. My mom cooked us a real nice meal and the family was just watching TV, singing videoke and dancing. It was great and everyone was having fun. I'd sure like to have more weekends like this. Nothing beats a nice quality time with your loveones.

Well two of my adult children live with me. My daughter part time and middle son all the time. He is 35 and totally disabled. Daughter actually lives 2 miles from me but lately due to weather she is here more. Right now they have 4 feet of snow in the driveway which is 3/4 of a mile long. Her husbands plow broke and so they are snowed in. They shoveled a foot path out. They did have one truck out at our place. So they can go to town and things. Right now he is laid off until spring due to snow. So with that said besides my daughter, son and son in law here we have daughters 5 children here ages 3-11. They are sick all of them so have been brewing up home kitchen remedies of Onion syrup and teas for them and they are slowly getting well. Daughter is expecting number six come April. So we just loved the little ones and cared for them shoveled snow, brought in firewood and played board games or watched movies.

I find myself spending less time with my 'family' on the weekends as that seems to be the time that everyone, mainly my teenaged son, are doing other things they can't do during the week. My quality time lately with him has been our car rides to and from places - otherwise he's off and running.

My children are not around here and have busy lives so we did not spend time with them. My husband works on weeks at the family estate so it is me alone on weekends as usuall. My husband works two jobs during the week and on weekends he goes to the family estate so I have to entertain myself. I did go to a friends home on Saturday night and watch two movies. The devil wears prada and Even Almighty. I love Even Almighty I did not like the Devil Wears Prada so much. I thought it was different than it was. Pluse the DVD kept stopping and skipping. Now hubby is back to working his two jobs this week and I am home alone again.

I'm glad you got to spend some time with a friend. It's not good to be alone all the time!
